ALVILDA - C’est Déja L’Heure 12”
(2023, France//Static Shock Records)
Been listening and enjoying this French power pop album since it came out but drug my feet on getting a physical copy until I found one in the US. Really amazing, catchy tunes. A perfect record, all around.
THE BLUE HEARTS s/t (1987)
THE BLUE HEARTS - Young And Pretty (1987)
“The Japanese Ramones” as they say. I can’t really deny it. Super catchy, fun, and quirky. They released their first and second albums in the same year, what maniacs. First album is better imo, but the second is good too.
LIBERATE - The Proof Of Survival Here It Is 12”
(1998, Blood Sucker Record/Japan)
It has been a long while since I have put this on, happy to report that it’s ass kicking. Not really a band that gets talked about much, and it’s not an expensive record. There was just so much of this stuff coming out in the 90s and maybe they got lost in the mix a little. But this has it all. A nice Our House recording, shredding solos, gang vocals and nasty main vocals from the singer who was also in Acid (Japan). Glad I hung on to this. Pretty killer! They also had a bunch of 7”s and a split with Selfish that got more spins from me for some reason.

D.S.B - Wings Continue To Strive With Unchanged Mind 12”
(1998, Japan, Blood Sucker Record)
Stop whatever you’re doing and listen to this.
SUZI QUATRO s/t 12”
(1973/1974, USA, Bell)
Incredible album, very much in the glam rock, T-Rex arena.
THE 3RD PYRAMID BAND - demo CS
(2022, USA, Self-Released)
New demo from this new Columbus heavy rock band. Ex-TEETH OF THE HYDRA. Eclectic songwriting, this band is going to be really good, they just played their first show with THE OBSESSED, get ready. HTTPS://thethirdpyramidband.com
S.O.B. - What’s The Truth? 12”
(1990, Japan, Rise Above)
This album showcases SOB graduating into more of the metal world, with a slightly less raw and thicker sound. It’s a different animal than their 80s material, but still rips.
Tour version with tour dates in the inner sleeve, sold for their European tour. Side B is the Thrash Night EP.
ISTERISMO - Follia Verso L’Interno
(2012, Japan, La Vida Es Un Mus - Crust War)
Top tier Japanese noise crust, not sure what people are calling this wave of bands, but I think Isterismo was the most interesting of the bunch. Not many of them could pull off an amazing 12”.

THE KIDS - Naughty Kids 12”
(1978/2022, Italy, Radiation Reissues)
Their second album that came out the same year as their explosive first LP. Crazy that it came out so fast. This album took me a couple listens to really catch onto it because it’s slightly different and has more slower songs on it and is a little more conventional sounding, but it’s really good and still really catchy. Worth checking out if you love their first album and 70s punk.
TRAGEDY - Darker Days Ahead 12”
(2012, USA, Tragedy)
This winter, this record really started to click with me. I never disliked this record, I just never really felt compelled to listen to it over their other material, but the harsh, brutal, cold of this winter this year just made it all come together for me. This is the test press copy with blank labels that they sold on their 2012 US tour. No idea how many were pressed, I remember them saying they had to make sure to only sell a certain amount each night so they didn’t sell out before the tour was up, so probably 200-300 ish?
ABURADAKO - ADK Years Collection 12”
(1999/2021, Japan, P-Vine)
Really amazing reissue of this collection of material from their ADK releases: the 1983 flexi, the Great Punk Hits comp tracks, and their 1984 12”. This was very expensive, but worth it. It’s really well done.
CROW - Gods Of Chaos - Death Of Nuclear Arms 7”
(1988, Japan, Crow)
What a great package, this record has it all. Beautiful artwork and kick ass Crow material. I consider this record part of their major mid-period, where they still sound very influenced by Discharge, but are also heavily influenced by Amebix. This one and the Door Of The End 12” really go together in that era for me. Hopefully this gets a Prank repress. If you look closely enough, you can see at the top of the purple version where my cat shit on top of one of my record boxes.
ICONS OF FILTH - Onward Christian Soldiers 12”
(1984/1996, UK, “Mortarhate”)
Truly a beautiful modern piece of art and design. As nice as this copy is, sadly it’s a bootleg from ‘96, not sure who actually pressed it, but you can tell it apart from the original by the blank & small hand drawn logos on the label art and you can see that the artwork on the front, back, and inside are slightly off-center.

RUDIMENTARY PENI - Death Church 12”
(1983/2022, UK, Sealed)
REALLY nice reissue with the original foldout style artwork and music from the master tapes. They clearly took a lot of time and effort to get the printing of the artwork and music right on this one. Well done. I bought this thinking that my pocket sleeve pressing was a bootleg since I couldn’t remember where I got it, but it turns out they pressed some pocket sleeve versions in 1987. I guess I’ll keep both versions of this masterpiece. #themoreyouknow
RUDIMENTARY PENI - Great War 12”
(2021, UK, Sealed)
The guitar is so gross sounding on this most recent RP 12”, I know a lot of people don’t seem to like this record, it’s artsy and the songs are all kind of the same, but I think it works well as a stand alone piece and I especially like the artwork on this one. It’s pretty cool in my book.
