that scene, omg it was like ten minutes long? and it was just them, talking. No interruptions. No change in scenery. Just Ashley and Laurel saying goodbye. It was flawless. The pace was perfect, not a second felt out of place. That’s so hard. Nothing took you away from that moment. It was imposible to look away. It was beautiful ride, all in perfect synchrony. True masterpeace. Just throw all the awards at the actors and writers please. 

Remember when Sandy went to see Ashley, and he didn’t realise just how bad he was? He came home to Laurel and said “I can understand him forgetting me; but not you.” Yesterday, that look in Ashley’s eyes when he and Laurel danced, I like to believe - along with her - that for one brief moment between the lyrics and bars of that song that he remembered who she was, and that she was the love of his life.
