YANDERE PLATONIC X-MEN X READER (prologue)
Reader, Reader....what do you decide? Do you want to continue watching the chaos unfold, but in exchange, you'll be at peace? Or do you want a second chance to try to have a better life, even knowing the dangers now? But the real question is: Will you accept my offer to live again?
That's what you heard from her, death itself giving you a second chance to live. You really didn't know what to do exactly, what was her plan with this? Why was she offering you a chance to live again? Was this a plan for something you didn't know? Or was she just feeling sorry for someone miserable like you?
"Why are you giving me this option? Are you planning something? You're going to want something in return, right?" you asked, a little skeptically, only to receive a dry laugh in return, but one that left you a little scared, especially coming from death itself. "Poor child, are you really going to deny something that many here want so much? A second chance to live and change your life? Well... but I can't blame you for not believing me. An offer too tempting to be true, or too easy," she said as she began to circle around you, slow but steady. "Know one thing, child, you have a power of choice now, something that can simply change everything, and I know you want it. Do you think I didn't notice how you were looking at things that happened in the world of the living after you left? How everything is simply boundless chaos coming from those who have hurt you the most in your entire life?" She paused while laughing at this, as if they had told a joke, which made you shrink a little. "It's quite ironic, you know? The same people who didn't want you, who made you suffer neglect, abuse, and trauma, were the same people who cried when you left, begging for you to stay alive, or as you saw, simply went crazy and decided to do unimaginable things because of you.”
You were silent during Death's speech. Every word was a truth you always tried to deny or reverse, but in the end, it was all true. The neglect from everyone, the attempt to be accepted only to have everyone hate you more, the knowledge that your father always saw you as a disappointment and a mistake, your uncle too. His cold gaze always reminded you of how unaccepted you were by the very people you claimed to be your family. Everything terrible and bad you've ever experienced in your life was in that mansion that claimed to welcome everyone.
(You remembered all the times they called you dangerous, how the training was tougher than other teenagers', all the wounds and scars you have on your body—they were from them, especially the one on your chest that Scott gave you. And remembering all of that only made you want to cry, like you always did in your room.)
Death observed the way you were, seeing that you were trembling and wanting to cry a little. With an indifferent look and covered by the hood, before speaking again. "I see you're not quite sure of your decision, but I have all the time in the world for you to think about it. But know that I'm giving you a second chance to change—" She stopped when your voice interrupted her.
"Hm? It seems you truly accepted," Death said with satisfaction, but a little surprised that you had accepted her proposal. "All right, little mortal, but remember what I said: your return will have consequences, and you know that everything that happens from now on depends solely on you." He paused as he pointed at you. "So don't waste it, reader."
You swallowed a little at her words. Even with her warnings, even knowing this wasn't a good idea, you accepted. You nodded at her words before she approached you and touched your forehead. Your vision blurred and your head felt a little dizzy. Before long, you passed out and fell unconscious.
"Hey? Are you guys okay?" a boy's voice said as he poked her with the twig in his hands.
"Of course not!! Can't you see they're abandoned in the middle of nowhere in the snow, you idiot!?" a female voice said as a slapping sound echoed through the room, followed by a moan of pain."We were lucky to find them abandoned in the snow and they're still breathing! *Sigh*...just let's get them inside before they die in the cold!!"
"Okay! Okay! No need to yell or hit me!" the boy's voice said as he grabbed his unconscious body by the arms while the female voice grabbed his legs.
"Geez, they're a little heavy, and big too."
"Focus! Stop whining like a crying baby and keep helping me carry the body inside," she said, greeted by an irritated murmur from the boy at her comment, before they opened the door and entered the house, the room changing temperature rapidly. The two young men carried her to the couch near the fireplace and quickly tucked her in.
The end!! Just a prologue to an X-Men AU I based it on. It's been a while since I wrote stories, so there might be more spelling errors or some things are wrong, but it was fun creating this short story.
