Something a little other, the blurry and muddy in-betweens, as most things tend to be. True. I'm acutely aware I don't quite fit the standard social norms, but the FBI and media- they both love to exaggerate. It's very annoying.

And which grounds have we shared? There's so many I could think of. Bloodstained crime scenes, musty carpet in Jack Crawford's office, polished wooden flooring in Hannibal's office. A mess of dog fur, but that seems a little far-fetched.

Some traits remain consistent, but underneath, there is nothing solid. I adopt the traits of whatever and whoever I am obsessed with. I am just a collection of personalities and faces. It is difficult to remember myself in the past because it feels like trying recall the motivations and feelings of someone I once knew, not myself. No one knows me. I don’t know myself. I felt that you would understand.

It's hard not to, with how clearly you've spelled it out. I imagine it's tedious without solid ground to base yourself on. Having to piece yourself together over and over again when a new hole emerges to be filled. Maybe it's a good thing, knowing that you are capable of change and growth. I think a tragedy greater than not knowing who you are is knowing that you are still rooted in the past.

Started on the first book of the series which was what prompted me to finally attempt this. Watched the show up to S2 a few months back, never grasped Will's character. Don't think I'll ever understand him, but it's worth a shot.
