We weren't always plural, but the human brain is a wondrous thing!
This blog is: System Friendly! Be you traumagenic or endogenic, you're welcome to stop by!
DNI IF YOU'RE ANTI ENDO, WILLO OR TULPA. IT'S ALL PLURALITY REGARDLESS OF HOW IT HAPPENED.
You can call us: Vibrant!
There's two of us and we're not super into giving our Actual Names, so Light and Engineer will work! You should probably assume I (Light) will be in front, but Engi might post here and there.
Pronouns: they/them and he/him work fine since we're both dudes.
Gender: trans man for Light, cis man for Engineer!
We suspect we're autistic, but quite distinctly , we're undiagnosed. If there's other hilarious things happening in our brain then we don't know about them. In any case, our humor may be dry or blunt, and we'll specify if we feel the need to.
I often pick up humor or phrases from the content creators I watch and I add them to my collection
I like making lists, they're very fun to do!
Light is: an Alterhuman! I'm okay with sharing what I look like :>
Things Light is interested in! (From most to least intense)
Malevolent (Finished it!)
The Magnus Archives/The Magnus Protocol
Other things I know about but aren't necessarily fixated on: Deltarune, Undertale, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Madness Combat, Welcome Home, JJBA, Homestuck
I like space! It's very neat in the way that it is up there.
Things Engineer is interested in!
Madness Combat.
I like to think that my hyperfixations work like the moon cycle. The new moon is the new fixation. As the moon waxes, the fixation grows more intense and I engage with it more. At the full moon, I'm very engaged and making big stories with my own characters in them. The waning phases are usually what happens when I discover another interest, because I've found I can rarely be at Full Moon intensity for two fandoms at the same time. -✨
Look at these wonderful stamps!!! They're by @coppereko , go check them out!
Light's music preferences: it depends, it depends on a lot of factors. What I'm in the mood for, what I'm doing, what mood I'm in, among other things. But I mean pretty heavily towards video game music.
Engineer's music preferences: I lean more towards. Intense music. I guess. I'm still figuring it out.
Fellas, there are times where the canon material needs to be taken as a suggestion🥰 fuck JKR and the Duffers! They can suck my fat one
We don't like the current president and we'd like him to go away because he isn't helping the people of this country. Our stance is firm.

There's potential for a Malevolent Pokémon AU but I only have one (1) idea which is that Arthur stumbles across the King in Yellow (rendered as a crazy rare Pokémon), and shows it enough care/affection that it Friendship Evolves into John
You ran with tears in your eyes, legs screaming in protest, lungs burning, but it was all for nothing. The monster was closing the distance. "RUN FASTER IT'LL CATCH US!" The eldritch abomination yelled as it picked you up and began sobbing, still sprinting.
Hi! This one's been in my drafts for a while so I figured I'd go on and post it because It's relatively done!
The insane part is that I haven't even caught up with Malevolent, so I'm probably going to need to update this eventually.
These are quite disorganized, I don't have the energy to order them sorryyyyyy
The ideas are making me crazy so what if Malevolent was a turn based fighting game like Limbus Company? Every character has like passive effects or Automatic Actions.
For example, John's Automatic Action is to describe what Arthur's seeing. This can reveal weaknesses in the enemy.
Arthur has a mechanic where his hits become stronger depending on how afraid he is (Desperate Strength). For every turn that JOHN is in a state of panic, then Arthur becomes exponentially more likely to retreat. After a turn or two, he may return.
Avera has a lot of offense skills and she has a high resistance to melee attacks.
Whenever Avera's health gets dangerously low, she can start using a new set of moves called "Heartbeat" which do a stupid amount of damage (this is similar to Arthur's Desperate Strength). It's called that because the only thing she can hear is the blood rushing in her ear. This would probably overlay the current song with a heartbeat until she exits this state.
Kayne, regardless of which side of the field he's on, has the Passive Action Manic Laughter, which will automatically tank the sanity of everyone* on field except for the Manager and the King, who are immune.
*John and Arthur have a stronger resistance to it. Lillith also has a resistance.
If Thelma is on the same team as other gods then her own Eldritch abilities will charge faster.
The Manager will passively restore the sanity of his teammates at all times, but he'll do it Faster™ if his opponent is Kayne.
Lillith and Kayne have a very high chance of getting into a fight if they're on the same team. Same goes for Arthur, Vivian, and Avera because they all hate Kayne.
Thelma will deal more damage if her allies have the same amount of sanity as her.
If Vivian and Hastur are both at dangerously low health they can fuse and become D'aioldavin! This will last for a few turns, then they'll break formation and resume fighting solo with recovered health.
The Manager can mediate inter-party conflict by manipulating their memories!
If the King and Vivian are on the same team, she will always retaliate if someone hits Hastur uncontested. If Vivian and Arthur are on the same team, she'll give him extra defense.
Lillith can make herself stronger by stealing half of an ally's sanity.
If Avera and Noel are on the same team, they have a high chance of turning each other's moves into combo attacks.
Avera and Thelma can also conbo each other's attacks, but Avera tends to take a bit of sanity damage from Thelma's playing.
Noel takes big Sanity Damage whenever the King is on the field, regardless of which side he's on.
The Allies Buff will raise a character's speed and strength according to how many of their allies are alive. This buff mostly applies to the S4 cast and Noel.
The King can make an opponent use an unwanted move if their sanity is low enough. This works on most characters with the exceptions of Lillith and the Manager.*
*It can work on Kayne, but he needs to be focused on others and at negative sanity.
The Butcher can gain his Symphony in Easy Mode (instrument gained with every successful attack) or Hard Mode (instrument gained with every successful kill). His speed and strength go crazy when he has the full Symphony. In Easy Mode, he will lose an instrument if he fails to attack that turn. In Hard Mode, he loses an instrument if he gets hit.
If Thelma is on the Butcher's team, she can play his symphony on her viola to deal heavy sanity damage to her opponents.
For some characters Speed = Power*
*Thelma operates in reverse. If she is the SLOWEST on field, she will do more damage. This means having her on the same team as Vivian is beneficial to them both.
Hometurf Advantage can allow for higher speed/more power for specific characters*
*HTA can't apply or Kayne or Lillith, as there is no place strongly associated with them.
Therefore, (taking big inspiration from the Kel Nuke from Omori) Vivian can legalize nuclear bombs! If the stage is set as Carcosa, she gains the Hometurf Advantage Buff, which raises her speed. If Vivian is the fastest person on field, her damage output can triple. If Hastur is on the field and at low health, Vivian will go harder on the offensive front (protect the King=get rid of the threat Faster). If you set Kayne as her opponent, congratulations! You now have a live explosive because Kayne makes her Angry, WHICH ALSO raises her attack power!
Noel has good potential though! NYC gives him Hometurf Advantage, the Allies Buff will do its work. If he follows up with a combos with Avera, that'll really do it.
Stages! (Along with who gets the Hometurf Advantage)

I...... May have colored it (testing the Sick and Rad Acrylic markers I got my hands on)
Now listen I KNOW in the Variant Masterpost I claimed that Hemlock's hair was black but?? Her horns are black, and like Erebos's hair is already dark so I thought it would be Fun to balance out which Variants have dark hair and which ones Don't. I don't know how I feel about her hair color right now, it's kind of in limbo. Maybe if I make her tan it'll balance it out to make sense? Especially since this isn't her standard outfit. I'l have to do some testing to see what works. I'm open to suggestions because skin color is actually my worst enemy.
The acrylic markers are interesting. I don't know if I'm going to get as much shading action like I did with the alcohol markers. This is Fascinating to compare! Speaking of the alcohol markers, I did use them here, if only to convey that Erebos's skirt was see through. And also her eyes.
Also yes Pia has the most freckles, I kind of went nuts with it.
The only thing I know is that Vivian is on the paler side of things, and Erebos is practically a vampire. Pia gives me warm skin tone vibes. I have no read on Hemlock quite yet.
I feel like I didn't see this reblog the first time, but I'd be glad to elaborate if you wish!
....
[Set up: there's been a very stubborn suspect who won't talk. It has been hours, and now it's well past 2AM. Thelma came with them to the station because they thought this wasn't going to take too long.]
CHARLIE, exiting the interrogation room for the 5th time:
AVERA: Still nothing?
CHARLIE: Nothing. I don't know what it is about this guy but he ain't talkin'. I've used all my best tactics, doll. He takes physical punishment like nothin' and words ain't doin' much either. We might wanna call it a night.
THELMA: I could try.
The adults in the room promptly looked over at the girl. They'd nearly forgot she was there. They shared a weary look, equally tired and strung out after dragging nothing out of the suspect.
CHARLIE: You sure, kid?
THELMA: Your tactics haven't been effective. It would be faster if I tried.
AVERA, shrugging and rolling her shoulder: No one else's at the station by now. Couldn't hurt to let her have a go at it. We got what, three words out of him?
CHARLIE: Might've been less than that. Sure kid. He's all yours.
THELMA: Good.
The girl stood up, taking her viola case with her. She hadn't played it the entire time, even though Avera was under the impression she was going to practice to kill time. The interrogation room's door shut ominously.
Charlie sat down and they made light conversation about what they'd make for dinner later. Avera had just finished describing a simple soup when they heard.. music. It was muffled through the door. Had she made some kind of exchange? A performance for information?
Charlie found himself gripping his knee. The hairs on the back of his neck were standing up on end. Something was off with her playing, it nearly reminded him of— no that couldn't be right, that was crazy. Avera's fingers were digging into her bicep. They let out the breaths they'd been holding once it stopped.
The air stopped feeling quite so heavy. Thelma exited the interrogation room, her viola safely tucked away in its case. In her hand was a paper.
THELMA: His name is Morrigan Blakes. He was making sacrifices to his god who specifically wished for people that favored their left hands. He has been making sacrifices for years, and he only got caught because he got cocky. He wrote down the names of every victim over the last five years. Is that sufficient enough?
Both adults seemed to enter a state of shock. What? All she'd done was play her viola, how did she get an entire confession out of him? Avera had just stood, taking a half step to the interrogation room before stopping cold in her tracks.
THELMA: You shouldn't go in there. It would be better to leave to the cleaners.
...Silence.
THELMA: I would like to go home.
Charlie shook himself out his stupor first.
CHARLIE: R-.. right, kid. We'll read ya something extra special tonight for helping out so much.
THELMA: Can it be a story about the stars?
AVERA: Of course, kiddo. Let's head home.
All three of them leave the station. Inside the interrogation room, there was no small amount of blood.. everywhere, really. One may wonder why.
The answer is simple; Morrigan Blakes' head had exploded.

While thinking one day, it occurred to me that that there are a lot of alternate worlds! And Vivian probably wouldn't serve the King in every single one, so now I have variants!
(This post is going to be VERY long, as I detail backstories, what they'd do in the story, the whole shebang. I'll add their colored designs in a reblog later! There WILL be spoilers here for varying episodes like 20, some of season 6's premise, 59 and 60!! That's why it's going under the cut!)
Here's a refresher over Vivian!
Name: Vivian
Height: 7'2
Eye color: white
Hair color: black
Primary color: yellow
General traits: friendly, open, fiercely loyal
God: The King in Yellow
Role/Title: The King's Guard
Summarized Backstory: she handled the offerings in Carcosa until she wanted to know who the King was. She's promptly employed as his Guard.
Weapon: Golden Spear
Gifts from her God: Height, 6 wings, unusually long and smooth hair, extended lifespan, the ability to freely travel between the Dreamlands and the waking world.
What she does throughout Malevolent: Meets Arthur and receives her name from him in 20, falls into New York while Arthur goes to Addison and gets into some shenanigans. She has a few light conversations with him about how much she's learned about humanity once he shows up in New York. After Yellow is sent back to Carcosa in 40, she warps herself back to the Dreamlands, assuming that's where Arthur and John went. She greets Arthur at the very end of 57, and takes her position at the King's side throughout 58. She remains with Yellow when he's turned Red.
In Threshold, she visits Arthur and Faroe to have lunch! To Faroe, she's Arthur's weird friend that comes by every now and then. I am not up to date on Threshold 4 and 5 YET.
(In a side blog, something else happens, but we'll get there)
Fun fact: her given name was Pia! She just forgot it after several thousand years of serving the King!
Onto the Variants!
Name: Hemlock
Height: 6'4
Eye color: Dark red around Kayne, green if not.
Hair color: black, but usually matted with blood
Primary color: Red, light blue when she's with the Manager.
General traits: Aggressive, cold, closed off
General traits around Kayne: Manic, bloodthirsty, deranged
God(s): Nyarlathotep and Kayne, later the Manager
Role/Title: Harbinger of Nyarlathotep
Backstory: A highly skilled Healer that wanted nothing more than to break away from the oppression that Healers faced, she turned to worship and pray to Nyarlathotep. He took an interest so they traveled to cause chaos together and vent out Hemlock's pent up rage; causing them to grow close. Kayne stopped this by killing Nyarlathotep in front of Hemlock. In a fit of grief and anger, she attacked to kill Kayne. This failed, but he was entertained enough to keep her around.
Her bloodlust skyrockets whenever they're together due to his chaotic energy. This puts her in a constant state of manic glee when they do things. Whenever she has a moment of lucidity alone, she chooses to pray to Nyarlathotep as her loyalty lies with him, not Kayne. The Manager hears these prayers.
Weapon: Her Claws
Gifts from her God: Claws, 6 horns
What she does throughout the events of Malevolent: Fights with Vivian in episode 20 before Arthur gets there. She honestly doesn't interact much with Jarthur because I wouldn't want to take away from Kayne's big scenes. In 59 at the theater, she's lured to the Waylay so that she doesn't straight up kill Arthur for not answering Kayne. In 60, she gets scarred by Kayne when he lashes out at the patrons of the Waylay for not telling him about the Manager.
Hemlock remains in the Backup Waylay as the Manager's follower. This can help him satiate any godly inclinations he may still have (such as actually wanting someone to worship him). It also helps some of her lingering grief over her original Nyarlathotep being dead.
Next!
Fun fact: her given name is Passia, taken from Passiflora, a Passion flower. They're known to have medicinal uses! She changed her name to Hemlock so that people wouldn't associate her with being a Healer.
Extra fun fact: she wears jewelry around her horns!
Name: Erebos
Height: 5'11
Eye color: Periwinkle (silver when hosting Scratch)
Hair color: Dark purple
Primary color: navy
General traits: Quiet, cunning, strategic
God: Lillith
Role/Title: Leader of Lillith's cult, Host of Mr. Scratch
Backstory: A woman with the ability to turn into a crow was plagued by nightmares. The nightmares were a constant premonition of other's deaths. Her predetermined role was that of a Seer. Unfortunately, Erebos couldn't find it in herself to care to warn these people. So she went to where Lillith's cultists gather to pray to Lillith and ask her to make the premonitions stop.
Lillith is so used to humans caring about other humans that she was a bit surprised that this one didn't. So of course she fulfilled this request. In return, Erebos became the leader of the cult and host of Mr. Scratch whenever Lillith requires it.
Weapon of choice: Whip, talons
Gifts from her God: Telepathy, the ability to control whether or not her dream is lucid, painless and faster shapeshifting. Moving between worlds via dreams to offer assistance to other versions of Lillith.
What she does during Malevolent: Obviously in canon, Hattie is the one possessed by Scratch and that's what causes Arthur to meet Oscar. Here, however, there were reports of people going missing (Erebos was kidnapping them as sacrifices for Lillith to feed on). One of them was Hattie, causing the almost normal chain of events to happen. Erebos's goal was to lead Arthur or someone gullible to the Barn so that Lillith would be freed from the Nightmare Realm. She kept dropping the belongings of the missing people in a trail to subtly guide him to the Barn.
Her next appearance would be alongside Alexander as a crow. Always watching from afar, she's ratted out by Mother Darkness. Since the Lillith we all know and love isn't Erebos's Lillith, she has no problem slipping away from England before Kayne can kill her. She updated the Manager on the situation before Arthur showed up in the Waylay. With the help of someone else, Erebos killed Hemlock to send her to the Waylay.
Next!
Name: Pia
Height: 5'3
Eye color: sky blue
Hair color: medium brown
Primary colors: White, light blue
General traits: Calm, welcoming, sweetheart
God: The Manager
Role/Title: The Siren of the Waylay
Backstory: Pia was a small performer in Carcosa. She often woke up early to sing and perform for anyone who listened. In her world, instruments hold a lot of power. If you find the instrument that resonates most strongly with your soul, then your own inner power will be unlocked. Pia got lucky, her mother passed the harp down to her, and it was her resonant instrument.
On the day that Pia intended to perform for the King, Kayne happened to be in the world. He knew that she could become a problem if she had a place in Hastur's court as the Royal Musician, so he killed her before she could do it. The Manager had also noticed this, so he took her soul to the Waylay. Now she still gets to perform! Occasionally, she might serve tables or bartend, but she generally sticks to the stage.
Weapons: Dagger, Harp and voice
Gifts from her God: He boosted her ability to charm people. It makes them more susceptible to listening to her. If she plays the right song, she can make a protective barrier around herself and others.
What she does through the events of Malevolent: Since the Waylay isn't featured super heavily, Pia wouldn't get around to doing much. She was the one who lured Hemlock away from Kayne during 59 using her music.
Next!
Name: Vivian (Dark World edition)
Height: 7'2
Eye color: hazy red
Hair color: Black
Primary color: Dark grey
God: the King in Yellow
Role/Title: The Devotee
Backstory: She does everything almost the same as standard Vivian, albeit with more sacrifices to Hastur. The difference is that she tried to defend her world's Arthur from Kayne, and he ripped her heart out for it. Now she patrols her area of the Dark World, most commonly called the Blood Planes.
Weapon: Golden spear
Gifts from her God: same as standard Vivian, except she can't travel outside of the Dark World.
Next!
What she does in Malevolent: if John projects, then she'll calm down without use of the Lighter, since she will assume he is Hastur. This will put Arthur in the clear and give him a guide. However, John projecting takes energy, so she's brought back to coherency by the Lighter anyway. Vivian will stick around for an area or two before deciding to scour the Dark World for a Hastur. She misses him.
Fun fact: her tunic is dark grey, her wings/hands/spear and feet are constantly stained with blood.
Name: D'aioldavin
Eye color: technically yellow
Hair color: it's more like fire, but black and yellow
Primary color: yellow
God: they are the God.
Backstory: After the King in Yellow was turned into the King in Red, he was unfit to rule Carcosa. Unresponsive. The Dancers confided in Vivian and told her that she should take his throne. After all, she had been at his side for eons, she was best fit for the role. She vehemently disagreed because to dethrone Hastur would be the worst sin she could commit against him.
After several weeks, she gave in and agreed that the King in Red had to be replaced. The ritual named that Hastur specifically would be replaced, and thus they fused together to create D'aioldavin. They have all the memories of Hastur and Vivian respectively, but they don't have their corresponding emotions.
Weapon: Unknown
Abilities as God: Mental manipulation, hallucinations, teleportation of other people, the ability to see the memories of other people, the ability to summon extra arms.
What they do Post Malevolent: After about a week of settling in as the New King in Yellow, they send a scroll to Arthur. They teleport him and John to Carcosa so that they can have a talk. All is fine, so they resume ruling the Dreamlands.
Fun fact: I like to think a Parker ended up in the Dreamlands, then stumbled across Carcosa. I also like to think that D'aioldavin was very endeared by him, so they usually keep him around in one of their extra hands.
How do they interact? How do they feel about each other?
Vivian to Hemlock: In episode 20, when Kayne goes to Carcosa to wait for Arthur to get out of the Pits, Hemlock was in attendance. When Kayne grew bored enough to start killing the residents, Vivian attempted to stop him. Hemlock engages Vivian in a fight that leads to a chase through the castle. Hemlock regains her lucidity once she gets locked in the dungeon, and they have a talk. Vivian is disgusted to learn that a version of herself would ever follow Kayne, but leaves her alive.
Vivian doesn't really like Hemlock, but she was at least glad to hear that she was recovering away from Kayne.
Vivian to Erebos: with Lillith's presence in 58, Vivian absolutely would've met Erebos. They tolerate each other due to their understanding that fighting will get nothing done. She's wary of Erebos, but she's also confident that she could best her in a fight.
Vivian to Pia: They are unable to meet since Pia is in the Waylay. The Manager could theoretically take her out to places, but she's content to stay where she is. They would get along fine.
Vivian to DW Vivian: they are unable to meet, but they'd fight if they did.
Vivian to D'aioldavin: they are physically unable to meet.
Hemlock to Erebos: Any time that their gods were in the same place, a fight broke out. Hemlock always grew frustrated when Erebos started to fly during their fights.
Erebos to Hemlock: While Hemlock was crazed, Erebos felt she was detestable. A decent sparring partner. Their fighting styles heavily conflict, as Hemlock needs to get up close and Erebos intends to keep her opponents at a distance. She decided that Hemlock was tolerable after she was away from Kayne.
Pia to Erebos: Their alliance was steady enough. It was fairly commonplace to find them discussing plans. Pia trusts Erebos, even though she really shouldn't. The only reason she agreed to lure Hemlock (so that Erebos could kill her) was because they both agreed it would be in the best interest of the plan.
Erebos to Pia: She finds Pia to be naive. Doesn't think a bone in her body could go towards deliberately harming someone. Outside of harming people, Pia is a reliable enough ally.
Pia to Hemlock: Oh she REALLY didn't like Hemlock at first. Their mutual dislike came from their patrons hating each other. At the same time, she couldn't help but notice that Hemlock's bloodlust was.. unnatural. And it was only happening around Kayne. After the Manager explained that Hemlock's sanity was tied to her proximity to Kayne, she was more open to becoming friends. Once Hemlock is employed at the Waylay, they grow close.
Hemlock to Pia: She viewed Pia as a target for a while. They didn't have a proper conversation until Hemlock was at the Waylay, but she realized that Pia was.. nice to be around. She allowed her to wash all the blood out of her hair. She doesn't really understand why Pia would give her a chance after seeing how she acted, but she welcomes it.
My goodness..... THEY'RE SO SHAPED!! THEY'RE LITERALLY JUST CHICKENS BUT AAAAA I WANT TO SQUISH THEM, ARTHUR LOOKS LIKE HE'S SECONDS AWAY FROM SCREAMING!! LOOK ST FAROE SHE'S SO TINYYYYY HELLO MY BABYYYYY
AND THEN LILLITH LOOKS WONDERFUL! AND YELLOW HAS SHOES AND I NEED TO DRAW ALL THESE RIDICULOUS VERSIONS OF THE KING IN YELLOW TOGETHER
I'M AFRAID OF CHARLIE WHY IS HE THE ONLY ONE WITH CLOTHES ON AND WHY IS HE SO MMMMMM🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌
I very much enjoy that Kayne and the Manager are cats!!
If that one doodle is showing the size difference between Arthur and Charlie I think I'm going to lose my marbles (in a good way)
AND THE LAST ONE IS SO CUTEEEE I WANT TO WRAP THEM IN A BLANKET!!
So basically I adore this AU because it is silly and full of whimsy!!! I'm very glad I stumbled across it while looking at Manager fanart!!!
