So a lot of people have dmed me asking me if deity [x] is trying to communicate with them or “what message has deity [x] for me” or “I saw this and that today, is that a sign?”. I can’t decide that for you so today I’ll try to teach you a little bit about how I communicate with my gods. This might not work for you, but keep an open mind :)

Songs

This one is really important for me. I’ve read somewhere that especially Odin likes to bring his message across by random songs on the radio or a conversation you accidentally overheard. I think if we pay more attention to our surroundings we can learn more about ourselves. How this applies to me: usually when I’m upset or lost and I need guidance from my gods I pay attention to my surroundings and I find that for instance, the song that’s playing on the radio (that I didn’t even notice was on) fits perfectly in the situation. Like when I feel misunderstood there was someone on the radio singing “you don’t know me” over and over again. Or when I’m worrying at night I suddenly had the song break free by queen stuck in my head. And one time when I was trying to solve the unsolvable I kept thinking about the line “should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements” from the song chasing pavements by Adele.

Thought

This one sounds trange, but this is one of the most common methods my gods use to contact me. I usually pray in my head instead of talking out loud so it would make sense if the gods respond the same way. How this applies to me: I try to meditate before hand for the clearest connection, but this also works if you don’t. Basically, just try to focus on your thoughts. Don’t push it. Try to notice if anything repeats. Maybe you get the same name, colour, feeling or sentence over and over again. This could be a message! The gods I’m really close with, like Loki and freyr, I usually just talk to like normal, but in my head. I usually get a really clear answer when I do this, but please don’t be discouraged if this doesn’t work for you. You also might be afraid that you’re just making everything up, but I’d say just have faith :)

Dreams

This one is also one of my favourites. I’m really into dreams and I’m good at remembering them. I like this method, because it feels like I’m physically there with my gods. You can have a one on one conversation with your deity or they can try to tell you something through symbolism. Sometimes it’s hard to know the difference between an Important DreamTM and a normal dream. A good rule of thumb is: first of all, did I dream about my deity? They don’t always look like you’d expect them to, but usually you just Know it’s Them. Second of all, was there a clear story line or message. Normal dreams for me feel very useless and repetitive but dreamvisits feel very chronological. Sometimes I also wake up with a strong feeling that I should remember something important. How this applies to me: I usually dream about the deity themself. Loki looks different most of the time, but when I see him I just Know it’s him. Thor also likes to stop by every once in a while. I could tell you about a dream in which he told me about my afterlife if you’re interested?

Divination tools

I’m not very familiar with this method I prefere to talk to Them by meditating, but you can use divination tools to do that too. I’m very familiar with the runes so you could just ask a question and ask Them to answer it for you via the runes. Then pull a rune and look up what it means. You can do the same thing with other tools. If you use this method please comment or reblog this explaining how you do this, because I’m sure you can explain it better than me :)

Hearing

This one is new for me too, but I’ve been working on that and I can now sufficiently “talk” to Loki and physically hear his answers :) ! This one is quite hard if youre not spiritually open enough though, so don’t beat yourself up over it. How this applies to me: I usually try to meditate first. This will not work for me if I don’t meditate first. I have to make sure I can distance myself from my thoughts. Then I try to “observe” my thoughts and listen if I can hear phrases or sentences repeating. Sometimes I just hear something really loud or prominent and that let’s me know it’s important. After I’ve decided that came from Loki, I just talk back with the voice in my mind. I find that this method is way faster and clearer than the thinking method, but it is harder to train and you need to concentrate the entire time.

Touch

I’ve never heard someone talk about this method before. I also don’t really know how to explain it. Basically, for as long as I can remember I’m able to “sense” spirits or deities via touch. (Too bad it took me 16 years to connect the dots though). I could feel their hand on my should etc. I instinctively use this method to sense my gods when I’m talking to them and I can feel the difference between deities. For instance, Loki is more likely to poke my side/pat my head/nozzle his head in my shoulder to look over it, where as freyr is more likely to hold me by my waist or give a kiss on my forehead. Odin also has a thing for putting his hand on my head when I’m kneeling to pray hahah. I guess it makes him feel power full. Also Thor gives the BEST bearhugs <3 I don’t know how someone can develop this method, but please dm me your experiences if you do this too; I’ve literally never met someone who can do this.

Visualisation

Some people call it astralprojecting or traveling through the aethr, but we’ll call it visualisation for now, because I usually use that term. I also do this instinctively when I’m praying. I just focus my energy on the gods and I can see them sitting in a row in front of me. If I want to talk to a specific God I just kind of zoom in and if they allow it, I can see and feel where they are. Apparently I’ve been in Odins throne room before and I’ve frequently visited freya this way. I also visit Frigga like this. This method is kind of like the dream method except that you’re in fact awake.

Sometimes it feels like the God is in the room with me instead of me being where they are. Instead of visualising a new surrounding I just see the God with my minds eye. This also ties in with the touch thing.

Many people who have been studying have become quite understanding of the nature of their rising sign and how this reflects their personality as an individual (as the 1st house of ‘I am’).

Though the Ascendant plays an important role as to how you recognise yourself, your personality and sense of individuality, your Imum Coeli, Descendant and Midheaven also play an integral role to core components of who you are in relation to the context of your family, relationships and in the eye of the public.

Ever noticed how your personality changes when you’re with your family compared to when your with friends or your romantic partner? And bringing the romantic partner into the family life can initially cause a sense of tension? (4th/Cancer square the 7th/Libra…makes sense!?).

In this segment, we are going to explore how the sign on your Midheaven can display how you are perceived in the eye of the public. This means how you will appear to people who barely know you, people who you walk by in the street or on the bus, to your social media platforms and the reputation you gain through your career. When watching celebrities on television, you are far more likely seeing their MIDHEAVEN sign (and 10th house activity).  

Take note the sign of the ruler of your Midheaven is in and read about that placement as well (especially if you have an empty 10th house) + you may also like to read about the planets in the 10th, though the sign of your midheaven and its ruling planet will be far more potent in relation to how you are perceived in the public eye and what you are most ‘famous’ for.

Note

I have listed as many possible positive and ‘not so positive’ reputations you may gain in the eyes of the public. Those that apply will greatly vary on the entire natal chart.

I am specifically referring to the Midheaven though planets in the 10th house will affect the presentation of the public image so those may be accounted for.

Aspects to the midheaven such as the conjunctions and opposition may be accounted for, though trines, textiles, and squares can give energy to the Midheaven also, their manifestations will be slightly more subtle. If you are new or intermediate to astrology, aim to only read about conjunctions or oppositions to your MC if you have any. Oppositions will indicate conjunctions to the IC (Imum Coeli) and this will mean that planet is hidden from the public.

Sun: your “self”. The day by which month you were born in. Ex. July 1st would be a sun sign cancer. Cancer’s are caring, sentimental, and moody.
