Sometimes you need to step away from things for mental health. Sometimes you need to leave situations for your mental health. I know it’s hard to do but it’s totally valid.

don’t ever let anyone make you feel ashamed for not going down a conventional path (e.g. not finishing college or starting college later in life, doing an internship in your late 20s, not having a "career” by a certain age). all of this is arbitrary. do not create a life that aims to satisfy everyone but yourself. you worked hard as fuck to get to where you are. don’t you dare let others including yourself diminish those efforts. you do not deserve that. especially if you did it all while battling mental illness. 

i have a good feeling about 2020. we can do this. no matter our 2019 has been, let’s end it strongly so that we can come into the new decade with only good vibes. there is still going to be frustration, stress, and sadness, but we’re all going to make it through, like we did in the past. this time we will get back up and pursue those goals, no matter how far away we are from achieveing them. we’re going to be kinder to ourselves for mistakes and try new things, pushing aside any self doubt. good things are coming soon. here’s to a fresh start!💫🌙✨

being alone doesn’t mean you’re lacking in something. you have something worthy to give. there’s nothing wrong with you. sometimes it takes time to find someone that clicks with you, and that’s ok. don’t waste time on people you can’t be yourself around, there’s so many people who’d love you the way you are if only they knew you. so stay open to others rather than letting previous experiences isolate you. you belong somewhere, you just need more time to find it.

i still don’t understand why recovery isn’t romanticized more. getting better after being at your lowest point? working hard and doing what it takes to feel safe again? knowing that occasional dips aren’t the end of the world? changing yourself and ridding your life of toxic behavior/people? i’m sorry that sounds better than any edgy miserable story i’ve ever heard.
