The Oraxia protoframe idea: woman, surprise. But here’s the thing, I write her in a specific way, a predator in her own right, one that is terrifying one that makes you certain, that upon seeing her, upon meeting her, you see her as evil, a villain… And that’s the point.
Her trailer: It would show a person running in fear as something chases from above, moving quickly, you see it swinging from what you can assume is rope… and then… You watch as the person is caught in webbing that is thrown at them, restricting their movements, making them powerless as the creature drops ahead of them, thin spider like legs making a click clack as it moves forward before you see the heels slowly touch ground… walking forward… Each step with purpose as the person screams, the heels spread down on the person’s head until… Slpoosh, it’s everywhere… Never see the Oraxia Protoframe’s face, and that’s the point. You’re not supposed to see her face, only what she does, how she hunts…
Meeting her: You get to see exactly the horrors she commits firsthand, you even get to watch as she slowly shoves one of her barbs into a tied up victim, and if you know what those barbs do for her ability… You watch as the pink barb slowly drains of colour, and soon, something writhes underneath her victim’s skin… Before a spiderling bursts out of their chest, Oraxia picking it up, cooing, calling it her beautiful child before she lets it skitter off.
Interacting with her in a “lobby”: she’s above you, whether sitting on one of her threads, or standing on it, balancing well. She will be looking down upon you as she holds a skull in her hand, observing it.
You’re probably looking at her so far and thinking about how evil she is, a cruel villain, no redeeming qualities… That’s the point, that’s how you’re supposed to look at her. You’re supposed to look at her like she’s the villain because you don’t know her, her motives, why she does it, what she’s actually doing…
Before trusted/close: You’ll sometimes learn about her tactics, how she enjoys the screams, the fear in the eyes of her victims, the begging to be spared… She feels no guilt about her actions, no remorse… You ask about a mural you saw, what seems to be a representation of her… She talks about how it was probably just the kids from the orphanage, that same orphanage where she abducted the head who was abusive to the children and exploiting them. She talks about how much happier the children are, how they’ve grown, how she’s a hero to them, a villain to many others… A small glimpse into who she might actually be, maybe she isn’t a villain, maybe she isn’t truly evil, just someone trying to do good with cruel methods.
Trusted/close: You’ll sometimes learn finally learn about who she actually is, she had a sister, a mother… Emphasis on had… Her mother and sister both dead after an in incident… People in power doing what they want and taking what they want. Taking her sister’s body, taking her mother’s life… You see that her cruelty, her power, allows her to inflict unto cruel people, the same cruelty they inflict unto others. Oraxia’s barb? Being forced to carry that spiderling to term against their will, watching as it births itself out of her victim’s chest, killing them in the process. Her webbing? Strong, unable to escape, make her victims powerless, helpless, there’s nothing they can do anymore, so they might as well accept what comes next… You learn EXACTLY the types of people her victims are, and you learn how much effort she does to protect the people who are abused, who become the victims… You learn about a previous lover, how she found the girl cute, adorable, even loved weaving clothes for her, helping her find her style… Even though there were others that called her lover and abomination, that she’ll never be a woman in their eyes… You learn that the skull she holds is the skulls of someone who went after women and children for their own enjoyment…
Why this for Oraxia? Simple, she is terrifying in the long run, she’s meant to make you see her as the villain, and if you begin to see her as more than just her cruelty, if you actually think ahead and assume that she’s purposefully making sure you only see the cruel side… You can come to understand why, her experiences, the horrors she’s witnessed… The cruelties against mothers, daughters, sisters, children… Oraxia’s 3rd active ability causes her to launch barbs which can and will cause a spiderling to burst for from the enemy. Her 2nd ability is a webbing that can cause enemies in a radius to get caught, unmoving, stuck… Just prey waiting for the end… Statistically, men are going to be uncomfortable with her and dislike her the most. She’s all about taking revenge and justice into her own hands against those that commit abuse against women and children. She is making them feel as helpless as their victims, making them feel each and every single cruelty they’ve committed.
She is loving, caring, she does good in her own way, but to certain groups, she’ll obviously be seen as a villain, an evil that wants to cause suffering. You can’t fix her, she doesn’t want to be fixed. To her, trying to “fix” her is saying she’s wrong, that the abusers should be allowed to get away with what they do, that their victims deserve to suffer and constantly live in fear… Fixing her, is saying you can only love her if she is someone else, that you can’t love her for who she is, that you can’t accept her way of doing things… And choosing that route..? You’re not romancing her if you choose not to understand her or see her side.
Romance with Oraxia: You can’t reprimand her, you gotta learn how to ask questions, you gotta want to understand her, her motives, her story, her… You need to be able to accept her cruelties, her way of doing things, because she is adamant on never changing. And surprise, you also need to actually be okay with that previous lover of hers. Would you do what she does, would you take justice into your own hands if the system was corrupt, if justice was just a slap on the wrist at best for people with connections?
This is just my concept for the idea of a protoframe for Oraxia, she’ll probably never happen, but I like this idea. I will die on my hill for this idea of her because it’s purposeful. My brain is filled with love for Oraxia as I do use her a lot in warframe.
