Haven't done much crafting lately because I've been spending a large amount of time spying on the birds hanging around outside my home. (Birdwatching: the ultimate productivity killer.)

I think these are baby brown thrashers; there was an adult bird hopping around and feeding them but I couldn't get a clear picture.

Planning on framing all these butterflies and this was the first attempt. I haven't hung it up yet because I don't have the right beads to sew in the rings of the upper wings like the pattern suggested.

I ended up not working in the back loops for the upper wings. Shaping the wings by adjusting the cord was a little tricky but I think it worked out well enough.

The instructions were to crochet in one piece but I ended up making the top and bottom wing sections separately, then joining them together.
