Installation art haters don't know how to sit in an uncomfortable room that makes you feel something you've never felt before

'women have too high standards for men' 'its impossible to live up to what women want from men' 'women are too picky and bitchy and mean to unattractive men' thats news to me because i keep meeting and learning about women who would be better off snorting arsenic than even associating with the men that they are dating

sometimes jakey is an ok guy who is just annoying to have around and sometimes jakey needs to actually die for the betterment of society

we talk about how cis people are just handed a gender and accept it without thought but I think what we fail to mention is that the same happens with sexuality

this extends beyond the bounds of simple heterosexuality. it's also about being told that you enjoy skinny white cis women with button noses and straight hair and no stretch marks and no cellulite etc. lotta gay people never let go of that one!

deriding things as performative is anti third space

im sitting on a patio at my favorite cafe rn and im hand stitching them hem of a dress im working on. and i can see why someone would say im being performative by working on something like this in a public space. but frankly theres no element of that. i just want to work somewhere that isnt my apartment. i want to be in public, i wanna chat with strangers, i wanna see the world. it’s nice to hang out somewhere that isnt my home!

what i mean is when you say people are being performative you discourage them from doing shit they love in public. and thats no way to foster the world we want to see.

i don’t think i’m exaggerating when i say that the average height for women in the US would increase by at least an inch if teen girls were allowed to eat as much as teen boys are

and not to bring my own clocky bitch ass into this but if cis women weren’t so consistently starved their entire lives you’d see a lot more cis women with the kind of bodies that we currently associate closely with trans women. the amount that the standards of feminine presentation are culturally defined by malnutrition is crazy
