I think it's important to say the word. Let's be real, the reason that terms like, "pansexual," "omnisexual" anf "polysexual" exist, the reason people will simply say they are "queer" when their orientation meets the definition of bisexual, is because of rampant biphobia, misinformation about bisexual history and shame. People are afraid and ashamed to admit they are bisexual. "Bisexual" does not mean "transphobic". "Bisexual" does not mean "only attracted to people who fit within the gender binary".
We need to say it. We need to normalise it. I am bisexual.
So I just finished the 4th episode of Paper Girls and I swear this show was handcrafted for Tumblr.
anti-egg vegans are always a hoot. like, sheâs not using it. itâs not fertilized. itâs going to rot and attract predators. you want me to just throw it in the trash??
its still animal exploitation, is it not?
do you think a chicken with zero emotional attachment to the egg she popped out feels exploited when that egg leaves the coop?
if that unfertilized egg cracked in the pen thereâs not a chicken who would wait 0.002 seconds to slurp that shit down raw and unseasoned but Iâm supposed to exploit foreign children farming for slave wages and ship all of their staple crops across the world to me instead. and this feels like the moral high ground to them. alright
Bringing up backyard eggs to vegans is like bringing up bridges to libertarians. Like, can we debate this when we've dealt with factory farming?
In retrospect it was kind of messed up that so many people saw a poorly-worded prompt about someone who starts to question her previously held assumptions about her own sexual identity and thought it was tantamount to advocating corrective rape. The lure level of biphobia in that is kind of insane.
"Some people question their sexuality even after they've come out."
"Rape apologist!"

So I just saw San Junipero for the first time and omg it was so good. Like even without the fact that it was about a romance between two women, it was such a cool concept executed beautifully. The other stuff was just a bonus, really.
Also, one of, if not the best bi rep I've ever seen.

You can pretend mono-normativity doesn't exist all you like, honey, that won't change the facts.
Pansexuality is a philosophy, not an orientation. Change my mind.

At the risk of getting in trouble with the lesbians again, gay people need to to stop taking ownership of bi representation. It's not all or even most gays, obvi, but I'm so sick of hearing that celibate bi characters or bi characters in opposite sex relationships aren't proper bi representation from people who aren't even bi. Feel free to take ownership of the way MM or FF relationships are represented, regardless if they're bi or not.
But if a character is bi, they don't automatically have to be in a same sex relationship to "count" as bi. It's not about you, Louise. It's about a group that literally has a term for when our existence is back-pedalled or ignored. Our experiences are diverse and varied. So if you want to say that a bisexual character that never dates someone of the same sex isn't real bi representation, you can kindly fuck off.
So if the reason no one has accents (except Tahani) in The Good Place is because everyone hears everything in their native language and accent, why does Chidi still not have an accent after their deaths are reversed? Iâm behind on this show. Please tell me they address that.
They address it almost immediately.
Myfanwy and Gestalt's kiss â¤đ I love this show
The way Gestalt grabs Myfanwy by the back of the head... and then later when she hesitantly reaches for their hand and they firmly grasp hers... fuck, I am never getting tired of this scene.
omg loverâs tracklist leaked
Nice try but there are 18 tracks, silly.
iâm losing my fucking mind target has a straight ally flag for $3 but no lesbian flag
who the FUCK
Aight first of FUCK THE ALLY FLAG. You shouldnât get a fucking flag, nothing is taken away from you for supporting us so you shouldnât really have one.
Perhaps itâs like a safety pin, a way for allies to identify themselves so we know whoâs a safe person, or simply to show support.
man shut the fuck up, even if they are a fucking ââââgood allyâââââ theyâre being given a flag over lesbians the first fucking letter of LGBTQ during pride month and thatâs absolutely RIDICULOUS. they wanna show support they can shut the fuck up and get out of LGBTQ spaces
My comment was in response to @i-put-the-purr-in-perfect . I agree that it doesn't make sense to sell an ally flag without selling a lesbian flag. That being said, in terms of having a flag at all, a flag is merely a symbol, literally anyone can make a flag. I have another blog where a significant number of my followers have designed flags for nonexistent countries and noone gives a shit about that.

lesbians dismantling the biphobia in our dating circles. donât let someone get away with saying âI just donât date biâs.â push back. stand up for your sisters.
Speaking as a bi woman, date whoever you want. Noone is entitled to your attraction, affection or body. Not wanting to date bi people is not biphobia. Rejecting us from LGBT+ spaces and services is biphobia. Dismissing the high suicide rates is biphobia. Lesbians not wanting to date us is not biphobia The mentality that not wanting to date a certain type of person is discriminatory is rapey as fuck. Do I think itâs close minded? Yes. A little silly? Yes. But not biphobic.
Hi, I understand where youâre coming from here. Certainly individuals not dating certain other individuals doesnât have the same severity of impact as high rates of suicide, rejection of services, and partner abuse.
And, certainly, someone can date or not date, have sex with or not have sex with, etc. whomever. No one needs to justify why; we all have the right to do and not do what we want.
However, excluding an entire group of people based on one characteristic *is* discrimination. Itâs prejudice, and in this case, we can call that prejudice biphobia. It doesnât mean every lesbian is required to date a bi person. It just means that they should probably examine where their decision to only date one specific type of woman is coming from, especially in the context of anti-bisexual sentiment in the lesbian community.
Although I wasnât the admin of this blog when that post was made, the amount of people misconstruing it to mean âyouâre required to say yes to every bi person whoâs into youâ is really concerning and I want to emphasize that that was not the sentiment. Instead, the sentiment was encouraging lesbians to ask others in the community, âwhy do you exclude women only because theyâre bi?â And âwhat is it about bi women that makes you think theyâre all not worth your time?â Because I think these are important conversations to have.
Hi. Thanks for responding even though you didnât write the original post. Technically speaking, youâre right, if you are using the literal definition of discrimination, which just means to choose one thing over another, or draw a distinction between two ore more things. However, in this context, itâs clear the word discrimination is being used to mean âWrongful discriminationââ especially when you use words like âprejudiceâor âbiphobiaâ. I prefer the word ââbiasââ over âdiscriminationâ. We all have biases that impact how we view and treat other people, and we should examine our opinions to make sure weâre not biased, and if we are, try to see where those biases come from. Not wanting to date any bi person simply because theyâre bi is biased and close-minded. Itâs not prejudiced. Again, I know you didnât write the original post, but I never thought it was saying lesbians are required to date every bi person thatâs into them. I interpreted it as saying to lesbians that if a fellow lesbian happens to mention they donât date bisexuals, that you should be combative and defensive. ââPush backâand âstand up for your sistersâare combative terms. âAsk them why they feel that wayâor âchallenge their biases in a productive conversation in which you hear them out, do not invalidate their experiences and offer an alternative perspective that may allow them to reconsider their position without shaming them for their dating preferencesâ are more constructive. If OP had really meant the latter,. they would have said that. Not that thereâs never a time to push back against legitimate prejudice or defend other groups, but someone simply stating her dating preferences is not one of them, in my opinion. I appreciate the sentiment but if a lesbian doesnât want to date me because Iâm bi, I donât need anyone to stand up for me. There are plenty of open minded, unbiased bi people, lesbians and straight dudes out there. It concerns me that some lesbian women could put themselves in situations theyâre not comfortable with for fear of offending or discriminating against someone. Dating discrimination is not a term that should even exist. We fight discrimination to protect peopleâs rights. Dating is not a right. Thanks again for your thoughtful and polite response.
