UNFORTUNATE CASE

A blink comes as a TRANSITION between looking forward and looking down to the side at the presence now so close by. An icy breath or two dare to push past his lips, one of light amusement and the other of light frustration as he realizes the position he’d been put into.

Touya sometimes did as he pleased, not a care for his poor POORbrother who’d now have to sit here, still as a statue until he woke up !  How cruel ! And Touya’s so warm too !  It feels like he’s huddled against a heater !  He can practically feel the sweat drops running down his face already ! ( you’d shove him off if you weren’t so biased, if he weren’t your brother, if he weren’t so tired looking, if he wasn’t finally so at peace ).

Natsuo smiles gently and his brows furrow together, shifting the normally joyful expression into that of a sad one, holding HAPPINESS somewhere within the background, foggy and murky though ever present. 

HE WORKS SO HARD, is a thought in passing and what a ridiculously obvious thing to point out. The bandages his body yields are proof enough of that. Speaking of, the younger of the two notes they need replacing soon. A few look old and worn out, loosely hanging on half-healed half-injured skin as if they were decorations of sorts ( you’ll remind him to change them when he wakes ).

t.ouya harbors a lot of anger towards r.ei. he knows not all of this is justified, but he’s grown to hate her over the years, and blames her for how his life turned out. while his body inherited her physical constitution and was, by all accounts, built for an ice quirk, he also inherited her mental illness. 

t.ouya lives with undiagnosed symptoms of schizoaffective disorder; manic type. he experiences peaks and valleys in mood that mimic bipolar disorder, while also experiencing vivid hallucinations – auditory and visual. 

jumping off of this, touya was the first person to start to notice rei’s breakdown coming. he was old enough to see it when she started experiencing her anxiety attacks/paranoia, etc. and as the oldest sibling, took it upon himself to try to protect and care for his siblings. 

he feels like he never had a chance at a childhood. by the time enji had given up on focusing on him, he was left to saddle the burden of taking care of his mother and siblings. he grows bitter from this, resents his mother for slacking in her role and letting him down, and for not better protecting him. it’s through this, along with the abuse from enji and his predisposition to antisocial behaviors, that he becomes “dabi.”
