Maikah had a hard time resisting the urges of their curiosity, especially when it came in the form of culture, art, or magic. They would argue that’s the purpose of their existence—to continue learning. That said, they found the Tevinter mage to be of interest. He seemed an odd sort, but were they any different from him in that regard?

He went from the sweet boy I grew up with that helped me through the hardships of being owned by his childhood friend’s father to someone I didn’t anticipate to become. He now was your typical heir to any magister’s seat, uncaring for the property he owns and is open to using blood magic, the very thing he despised. But Alexius had let it slip once in front of me that Halward found out about Dorian’s sexuality and planned to fix it. The way that Magister’s describe fixing things always results in blood magic. Always. Now, he is a son that any Magister can be proud of. He shows no sympathy or kindness to me as he once did, only the piece of property Alexius once had. “Lord Pavus, if you’d allow me…” He waits for the man to give approval and picks a tome from the bookshelf and skims its pages. “Why is it that there are still some Venatori that follow Coryphus, when the Inquisitor has already welcomed you and Lord Alexius into the fold?” It’s a valid question, Silas thinks, although now that he thought about it, it did sound a little accusatory. “Forgive me, I didn’t mean to be so blunt.“
“And you believe all Venatori are the same?” He asks, lifting an eyebrow as arms fold across his chest. “There are many who are true believers to the cause. That actually believe, but there are many who... do not. Alexius joined because of his son. Many... they were recruited because of desperation. Do you even know how it feels to be forcefully converted to a religion? To put aside your own beliefs and exalt a false Maker?” He tisked. “Corypheus is simply a way forward in their minds. They believe that they’ll cause the south to fall and all of that - for which that is what every single Venatori wants. To reclaim... what was lost so long ago.”

“ … ” he’s slightly taken aback . slightly . yes , aetlus cares but not to such an extent … yet . though the idea of him , a dalish elf nonetheless , pursuing something of a relationship with a human ? especially if said human was , well , a vint . the inquisitor feels like he would be on the losing side regardless of his titles . how he chooses to respond to dorian , would be quite the slippery slope to take on .
he pursed his lips , for the moment , to recollect his thoughts . at the mention of the desire demon , aetlus couldn’t help but raise a brow . “ you sound defensive , as if it’d be a bad thing for you to have an elvhen lover , ” a tease , but the mockery that colored the inquisitor’s voice was there . however , his voice took a much more serious tone soon after . “ not like it’d be that scandalous , seeing how people love to see us , elves , more like objects when it comes to sex . ”
“ oh, you mistake me completely. it’s not a bad thing at all to have sex with your slaves. it’s actually encouraged; to keep them in line. it just becomes complicated when feelings get involved... or you happen to be thrown in a torture chamber for almost a year because you happened to be sleeping with another male in tevinter.” while it was said as a joke - to play it off- there was actually pain there. it was not just heard in the high pitch of his tone, but also his face as well.
“you see, if you want me to treat you as an object? i can do that as well. to treat you as nothing more than a singular elf under my command? i can promise you the sex would be quite enjoyable for the both of us. then again? i could treat you as something more.” it truly was up for debate what method he would go for at the given time. “either way? it will be something you’ll remember.”

“I wouldn’t necessarily say good, but there are a few who want change. Not publicly mind you - if they said something like that without proper backing? They would be dragged away and killed. Did I mention Tevinter is big on tradition? I believe I have before.”
