stede just said, "i love being near you."

it doesn't matter who or what ed is, doesn't matter if he loses every virtue he might have ever had; ed doesn't have to be better or whole, he doesn't have to try and be what stede loves or worry the love will change if he changes, because stede just loves the air he breathes.

Then "Fun and Games" ending with “Seabird” by Alexis Brothers. After “I love everything about you, I love being near you, I love breathing the same air”. He shows a little vulnerability here, and in accepting Stede's invite to the ship. This song plays after Ed tells Buttons that people never change, only for him to succeed in turning into a seagull, and Stede popping back in to go to the ship together. Immediate proof that yes, people can change and maybe so can he? Both Buttons and Stede changed, so why isn't it possible for him.
