people of colour, esp Black people, in fandom spaces have been criticising fandom culture forever but now that white people are doing it more often all of a sudden everyone’s like oh yeah so true i’ll reblog that. poc - including trans and queer poc - still get a lot of backlash for pointing out racism in a non-polite way, but a white person does it, or points out transphobia and misogyny, and suddenly everyone’s amenable to it. do you actually care about addressing systemic racism in these spaces or do you think co-signing the occasional post on it is acknowledgement enough
