Another lovely day, and the lunch trees are looking beautiful, as always https://www.instagram.com/p/BzWeDsSAqnJ/?igshid=1l9cn1azt97bj

Ran into so many old acquaintances today. It's strange to think that I don't really know them anymore, that they will no longer be who they are in my memories. It's easy to remember the past, but not to remember the constant change of time. https://www.instagram.com/emperorofatlantis/p/BwjAfJ0ALQd/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ww88fesiahg5
The snow storm this week gave me a lot of time to think about certain things. And while these were all things I had considered before, for some reason I reached a different conclusion this time. As I once again approach the crossroads that Monday will bring, I find that I am, for the first time, unafraid of turning onto a new adventure. Tomorrow I will seek counsel from my most trusted advisor, who once had a similar decision to make, and I must determine if keeping things the way they are is the right thing to do or not. I feel that it is time for change. https://www.instagram.com/emperorofatlantis/p/Buh6A8sAfEK/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ja2pr96ajvnc

We got almost a foot of snow in one day, expecting more. The timing couldnât be better for a storm because I desperately needed a break from school.Â
On days like this, I wish I still had my old camera. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsCKQ5JgvQD/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1iducn3a265nl
Less than a kilometer away from this spot thereâs a beech forest where many photographers gather to take the same photo. Today I found five or six and they all had their cameras on their tripods with filters etc. One of them asked me if I shot landscape shots with the camera handheld, I said yes and he gave me a funny look. Which makes me wonder⌠those of you who shoot outdoor and landscape photos, do you use a tripod at all?
On another note, this morningâs conditions were all I ever needed to break my creative rut. Check the stories to see the beautiful fog and rainy forest â¤ď¸ https://www.instagram.com/p/Borm496lRsf/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=176dgothp3laq
I only ever use my tripod for video. If I ever started doing self portraits I guess I would use it for that. As for landscapes (a good percentage of what I shoot) I find that my hand is steady enough a tripod only slows me down. Whenever I have a camera in hand I tend to wander in a dream like state, so carrying anything around makes me feel kind of clumsy. Sometimes I bring out the tripod for clients, especially for sport or action shots. But 90% of the time I use my tripod bag as a quiver for my field arrows so I couldn't grab it and take it with me even if I wanted to.

Went to the pumpkin patch with a few people from school. I havenât gone since elementary school field trips.
I realised on the way there that I forgot to take my camera. I used my phone and the photographs turned out decent. I was pleasantly surprised.
Perhaps we were late in the season, or maybe it was due to how cold it has been at night, but most of the pumpkins were rotten. There were a few good ones left.
I had planned to choose one to harvest the seeds and can the flesh, but I quickly realized there were not any of the types very suitable for such things.Â
There was a hazelnut orchard next to the field we were in, so we wandered through the trees for a little while.
While discussing the origins of various Halloween traditions, we collectively came to the conclusion that the dark green pumpkins would be the most likely choice for an occult ritual, and then referred to them as evil pumpkins.
There was also a discussion on the process of choosing a pumpkin, especially when choosing between two that you like.Â
Do you search the entire field looking for the perfect one?Â
Would such a search result in the perfect pumpkin?
Or do you find one that will make you happy and stop looking?Â
But what if a contender comes along?Â
Do you feel any loyalty to your first choice?
What makes one pumpkin better than another?
What is it that you look for in a pumpkin?
What is to be the purpose of your pumpkin?Â
When deciding between two, I took to the method of one must be an objectively better pumpkin than the other. The purpose of my pumpkin was to be pleasing to look at, as I have no intentions of carving, and so the better choice was whichever I enjoyed looking at more.
I chose a small orange one with green warts all over it. I liked how interesting it was to look at, compared to the solid orange ones. I didn't catch the weight of mine, but it was exactly four dollars, which made me happy.
We have set them out on the back porch, to keep them from being smashed.Â
However, the squirrels are eating them and if they are to be destroyed, either way, it might not matter where we choose to put them.Â
There is a house across the street that has had pumpkins on their porch for several days now and they are still there.
So we are thinking about putting them out by the front door.
Oh wonât you come with me? Where the ocean meets the sky.
Iâll meet you there, in the days beyond time.

When you are this tired, can you really make any promises?

Took Shenanigan on the bus for the first time today!Â
She tried so hard to follow me up the stairs, but she couldnât get her back feet up on the bottom step. I had to lift her in, but then she got the idea, and I think she will be able to get it on our next trip. The driver was really understanding and patient with us and Iâm so thankful for that.
She wasnât afraid of the bus at all. Iâm really proud of her. Delta was always terrified of buses that passed us on the road.
I accidentally chose a seat that was above the wheels so she couldnât tuck under the seat very well. She tried her best.
At first, I sat by the window, but I soon realised Shenanigan takes up the whole length of the bench so her tail kept going out into the walkway. If I sat by the aisle I could keep my feet between her and the people walking by, so that she wouldnât be stepped on.Â
Since we took a trip into town, I took her to the store for a little public access work and to get out of the rain.Â
She did so well, I took her to our favourite lake for a walk to relax before we went back home. We only saw two other people the whole time.Â

dogs i love 6/â:

Maybe Shenanigan looks more like a German Shepherd than I thought.Â
Had my first conflict with a customer today while taking Shenanigan out with me. I was standing at the front counter, by the door, talking to the owner. She was sitting beside me calmly. An older woman opens the door, but won't walk into the store, she just stands there staring at me and my dog. She asks if my dog bites. I explain that she's friendly. After a few more minutes, she asks me to move. So she can come in without walking past me. Several people have walked past me without incident already. Obviously my dog is not going to suddenly decide to bite the woman. The store owner let's me behind the counter so we can continue our discussion on poetry. So we can appease this woman who has no right to ask me to move. She leaves quickly, without buying anything. I say I hope I didn't scare her off. At least the store owner doesn't mind that I did.
