Vela's Story

We survived. It's over. Etrius made a sacrifice to draw him out and then and killed him. When he got home, I hugged him, we both cried. We're packing up tonight and leaving. We can't stay here. Etrius has always wanted to see Philadelphia. So, goodbye everyone, this is Vela, signing off for the last time.

Etrius got out of prison. He got steroids in there which brought his legs back, but he won't tell me how he got them. Said something about a "sacrifice" before hanging up on me and now I can't reach him. Don't you dare leave me alone Etrius.

I can't deal with this anymore. Etrius was in prison for Mal's death (I don't know why they think he killed Mal, he's in a wheelchair and been with me 24/7) and I've been in the hospital thanks to the lovely officers that arrested Etrius. When I tried to stop them from arresting him, they beat me into the ground. I was released from the hospital today and cleared of any charges against me, but when I got home, the apartment was ransacked. Someone, or something had broken in and tried to find the journal. Exxius's mask, or a copy of it, was nailed to the wall in my room. Fuck that guy.

Three weeks. If we can survive three weeks it’ll all be over. Exxius is waiting. I see his car in the parking lot every day. He’s not even trying to be subtle anymore. I’m terrified he’ll get in and hurt us. I can run, but I won’t leave Etrius.

Etrius can't walk anymore. He cut he legs so badly, either the shock or the blood loss made him lose motor capabilities. He reads the book and sleeps mostly now. None of the others have come, we communicate by text now. Hopefully everyone is still alive. I wonder if it would've been better if I had just let Etrius die under that bridge. Was it right to save him and make him suffer with us?

I got Etrius settled down on my couch, not the best situation, but I live in a tiny apartment so hey, I make do, but I am fucking done with this town. Should've left when we had the chance. I called the others to come camp out here for safety and so we can figure out more about the journal Etrius found under the bridge. He had it wrapped up in his jacket, and it was covered in blood, and I don't think all of it was his. Fuck this shit, God I wish I had researched this town before I moved here.

Etrius...the bridge...why is this happening to us? I got a really cryptic call from him, telling me to come pick him up, but his voice was garbled and panicked. When I got there, it was darker. Darker than normal, cold too. I found his phone and a couple granola bar wrappers, and I thought he was sleeping, curled up in his jacket, but I saw the blood and the scalpel before I saw his face. When I lifted his hood, he was deathly pale, but breathing. I dragged him to my car and shoved him in. I hauled ass away from the bridge and took him back home-I couldn't take him to the hospital, not like this. Not with it around. It was watching the whole time. I just know it. It's coming for us next.

I know who the thing is. But I don't understand why. Why is he stalking us? I can't leave the house alone anymore, even during the day. He'll find me in the shadows and hurt me, maybe even kill me. He's going to kill us all in the end, I just know it. Exxius...why?

It followed me home today. I thought it didn't know where I lived but it followed me. It must've. I smelled death. Again. I'm scared.

Leo's gone. The thing-it's still hunting us. Why is it here? What did we do? How can we escape this hell?
