Musa experiences the castle for the first time
The massive, silver-braided doors creaked and opened slowly.
I tensed, staring at a hummingbird. I examined the tiny bird, wondering how such a small animal could open such huge doors. After a pause, I shrugged and followed the hummingbird through a huge labyrinth of a castle.
I gaped at a great hall big enough for three hundred guests and an even bigger ballroom. Something told me that neither had been used in eons.
We walked up a giant staircase and into a room that was glowing with sunlight. The whole ceiling was made of glass, filling the room with warm, golden sunlight. There were four comfy armchairs, and they were blue, green, red, and yellow. The hummingbird led me to the blue armchair where I sat down with my hands in my lap, nervously rocking back and forth.
When I looked back for the hummingbird, it had vanished. There was a plate of fried calamari sitting in front of me. I was about to pop a piece in my mouth when I remembered Kekos and guiltily put it back. I waited nervously, eager to meet the queen.
