It’s been nearly a year since I began this campaign

Raising my flag in the honor of your name

But now I fear the war is over, my goddess Verlaine

I have fought long and hard, sunrise to sundown

But fog has gathered round me and I can no longer see now

Your butterflies once guided us but they have left as well

I pray the days make sense as when I nightly felt your spell

The crew I fought with have all abandoned the cause

Leaving me lonesome as I continue to drift through this fog

I’ve developed many doubts, though I know I should not

Did you ever truly need me or was I merely besot?

The veracity of my value has caused me to falter

Am I truly a footman, fancying himself a walder?

Commanders fight battles, not get lost on empty ships

Were my dreams merely dreams when I heard my name spill from your lips?

These numerous thoughts pile upon themselves nightly

Weighing down my heart filled with feelings I still grip onto tightly

So I suppose I’ll maintain my heading, as I conclude this log
