freya looked up from the display of stationary she was looking through at the sound of a familiar voice. ah, yes, cormac. she would recognize that arrogant tone anywhere, and his boast about his dad was just par for the course. still, he was her housemate, and as annoying as he could be, freya knew he was harmless. “ i mean, probably. but i have a feeling your dad isn’t short on quills. ” she held up a package of stationary to show him. “ do you think this screams ‘polite and ladylike’ enough? mum’s a stickler for thank you notes, so i need more stationary for christmas. ”

a  grin  spreads  across  cormac’s  lips  at  freya’s  response,  his  head  tilting  as  he  considers  her  words,  begrudgingly  agreeing.   “ you  might  have  a  point  there. ”   he  sets  the  quill  down  as  his  eyes  scan  the  other  wares  scrivenshaft  has  to  offer,  though  he  knows  his  father  has  more  than  enough  stationary  and  parchment,  given  his  profession.  his  attention  is  diverted  to  the  wix  next  to  him  at  her  question,  and  he  puffs  out  his  chest  a  bit  as  he  assesses  the  stationary,  appreciating  that  freya  had  the  good  taste  to  ask  his  opinion.   “ that’s  a  good  option, ”  he  offers  with  a  tilt  of  his  head,  before  glancing  at  the  other  packs  of  stationary  and  grabbing  another  set  that  he  deems  a  good  enough  option  for  freya’s  mother.   “ this  one  seems  fitting,  as  well. ”  he  holds  out  the  package  to  her  with  a  charming  smile,  proud  of  himself  for  being  able  to  help  his  housemate.

orsa’s introvertedness always reared its short - tempered head at school events. squeezing through the crowds in central square had a way of wearing her out. merlin, she needed to be drunk for this. and so enters in the scene before you: prewett girl searching for a bench with a cup of elf - made wine her steady and welcome company. though she had wished to observe her fellow classmates move about the pond like baby deer by her lonesome, harry’s presence had a level of familiarityshe always welcomed.

orsa’s  familiar  presence  disarms  harry  just  the  slightest  bit  as  she  sits  next  to  him,  but  he  can’t  help  but  furrow  his  brows  at  her  words,  his  pout  becoming  more  pronounced  as  he  glances  over  at  her.   “ it’s  ridiculous, ”  he  argues  with  a  huff,  though  his  tone  is  softer  and  less  angry  than  it  had  been  previously.   “ what’s  the  worst  that  could  happen,  honestly? ”  he  raises  a  brow  at  her  when  she  nudges  him,  his  lips  slowly  spreading  into  a  boyish  grin  before  he’s  regarding  her  with  a  look  of  faux  shock  and  a  gasp.   “ miss  prewett,  are  you  suggesting  that  i  break  the  rules? ”  he  teases,  giving  her  a  gentle  nudge  back  with  his  elbow  before  taking  a  long  swig  from  his  mug.   “ any  recommendations? ”

when thalia became sick of skating and wandered somewhere else, freya decided it was time for a break. still wearing her skates, she hobbled off the ice and sat down on a bench next to harry. at his question, she looked up and laughed. “ yeah, i’ve made that mistake before. ” she said sympathetically. “ for some reason they’re real sticklers about that rule. seems stupid to me. what harm is it to bring a drink with you? unless you’re a terrible skater, that is. ” she looked back out at the ice, trying to decide whether she wanted to go another round or if she should take off her skates.

freya’s  response  causes  him  to  look  over  at  her,  a  small  smile  replacing  his  pout  at  the  clear  sympathy  in  her  tone,  happy  that  he  isn’t  alone  in  his  indignation,  despite  that  he’s  not  necessarily  happy  that  it  happened  to  anyone  else.   “ right?  it’s  a  ridiculous  rule, ”  he  agrees  enthusiastically,  albeit  a  bit  slurred,   “ why  even  bother  selling  food  and  drink  if  you’re  not  even  going  to  let  us  have  it  on  the  ice!  feels  like  they’re  teasing  us  with  a  good  time  and  then  making  us  pick  and  choose  between  skating  and  good  drink. ”   he  shakes  his  head  and  gestures  towards  the  ice  with  his  mug,  some  of  the  liquid  sloshing  out  the  side  and  causing  him  to  bring  it  back  to  himself  sheepishly.  “ it’s  a  travesty,  it  is, ”  he  finishes,  before  he  takes  a  long  swig  from  his  mug,  drinking  a  good  portion  of  it  so  that  he  can  get  on  the  ice.   “ are  you  going  back  out  there? ”

gemma’s  response  has  anthony’s  head  snapping  towards  her,  a  lopsided  grin  spreading  across  his  face  as  he  gestures  towards  the  creepy  statue  with  a  shake  of  his  head.  “ isn’t  it?  bloody  unnerving,  he  is, ”  she  responds  with  a  shudder,  glancing  back  towards  the  statue  for  a  moment  before  he’s  averting  his  gaze  and  turning  his  attention  back  to  gemma.   “ have  you  ever  seen  his  eyes  move?  i  can’t  tell  if  it’s  just  rumors  and  scary  stories  meant  to  freak  us  out,  or  if  there’s  actually  some  truth  behind  it. ”

a  silent  huff  is  aria’s  only  response  to  vincent’s  clipped  tone,  watching  with  slight  amusement  as  he  continues  to  approach  the  small  creature,  though  it  quickly  turns  into  a  nod  as  she  watches  on  impressed  as  he  actually  takes  the  time  to  use  the  proper  etiquette  when  interacting  with  a  hippogriff,  even  as  small  as  this  particular  one  is.   “ they  are, ”  she  agrees  with  a  wistful  glance  towards  the  stunning  creature,  a  grin  spreading  across  her  face  as  she  watches  the  hippogriff’s  reaction,  secretly  relieved  that  their  reaction  was  a  good  one,  not  wanting  to  see  yet  another  wix  come  in  and  agitate  them.  “ i  couldn’t  agree  more, ”  she  responds  with  a  glance  towards  the  kneazle  in  her  lap,  giving  the  creature  a  gently  scratch  behind  their  ear  which  has  them  pushing  into  it  with  a  loud  purr.   “ i  prefer  beasts  to  people,  if  i’m  honest.  if  anything,  i’d  reckon  that  people  are  the  most  dangerous  beasts  of  all. ”  she  shakes  her  head  with  a  huff,  turning  her  gaze  back  to  vincent.   “ and  that’s  coming  from  someone  with  a  dragonology  specialization. ”

a small smile creeps onto his face in response to the slight slur in ant’s voice. roman admires him from a distance, leaning against a tree nearest the statue and doesn’t take his eyes off of him; its hard not to. in his hand, there is a single cup of sweet mead that he’s been sipping from throughout the nice thus far; it’s gotten him sufficiently tipsy. which is why he says it at all. “you’re kind of cute, you know?” and the lack of panicked response from him should key anyone in on how gone he really is. “with your drunken muttering an’ all.”

anthony  had  nearly  forgotten  that  anyone  was  actually  nearby,  given  how  he’d  been  rambling  on,  but  the  sound  of  roman’s  voice  has  his  head  snapping  over  to  the  other,  a  cheeky  grin  spreading  across  his  face  as  he  moves  closer.  he  wastes  no  time  in  wrapping  an  arm  around  roman’s  shoulders  and  ruffling  his  hair,  jostling  him  more  than  he  probably  meant  to  in  his  inebriated  state.  “ aw,  you  think  i’m  cute,  lestrange? ”  he  teases,  making  kissy  faces  at  him  before  giving  a  wide,  exaggeratedly  cutesy  smile.  “ definitely  cuter  than  the  hengist  of  woodcroft,  eh?  i  think  we  could  both  give  him  a  run  for  his  money. ”
