aurelius task #004 / TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE
marked by anxiety and marred with hesitance
HOW have the new ministry happenings and the attacks during the time jump affected your character?
RA: A lot, just on a personal level. Her anxiety levels have spiked exponentially to the point she's been put on new medication just to mellow her out. Everything is happening too fast and too much that the state of the wizarding world genuinely scares her. It doesn't help that she's connected some dots in the bigger picture that she deliberately ignores just so she can have some peace of mind. Not as much on a worldly level. She was not visible to the people who were attacked, even if the thought of it scared her, and if anything, her parents are becoming more protective especially since her youngest sister is starting at Aurelius in the new year. RW: He likes to pretend that it hasn't affected him much, but in reality, he thinks about what's been happening probably an unhealthy amount. He's terrified for his father as a ministry worker and has very very deep suspicions about what's happening when it comes to the new minister. It's a lot, so much so that he can't really truly wrap his head around what is actually happening? Basically, he knows it's bad vibes but has no idea why. The attacks too affected him in a way he didn't expect. A lot of the people who were attacked he's never liked very much, maybe even hated, but it scared him to know these people were hurt (and dead!) which made whatever happening too real. So he's holding on to the people he loves even tighter now.
DID any of the disappearances or attacks involve someone your character knew?
RA: She only really knew of them, and many of them don't know of her. At most, she knew some of them through their quidditch matches. RW: Yes, but most of them if not all have antagonistic relationships with him. Losing Dumbledore hit him hard though.
HOW did your muse react to the news that their classmates ( aster, cormac, flora, hestia, mori, and pansy ) were attacked? were they concerned to learn of aster’s coma? did they go to visit aster or cormac in st. mungos during the months they were there?
RA: Fear, mostly. These people, young people, were being attacked for things seemingly out of their control, and she happened to live in their periphery even if she didn't know them personally. RW: It was weird because he never expected to ever feel bad for these people because of how they treated him and his friends. But hearing how serious it was, and for the Carrow twins to have died... It hit him in a way that he didn't expect. Like a weird grief, almost. He didn't visit, but did genuinely think about it lol. Just to give flowers or whatever.
DID your muse have any connection to the carrow sisters? what was their reaction to flora and hestia’s tragic passing?
RA: No, but she did get a panic attack at the news. RW: He didn't really like either of them. One of them was particularly rude to him, and he despised her at some point. But hearing of their passing just made him feel bad.
WHAT are some notable things that your character did over the time jump? any big events? did they have a birthday?
RA: Nothing particularly of note, but she is started to like her shifts at the hospital wing! RW: He got a minor injury on his knee, so he couldn't play pick-up quidditch games for a couple of weeks. Ron also turned 25 in March which he spent with his friends at Hogwarts!
WHAT did your muse do over the summer?
RA: She had a month of placement at St. Mungo's - a requirement for healing specializations starting 3rd year, which went off without much of a hitch (thanks meds!), and hung out with her friends (particularly Vale & Effie) in London. Her and her family visited her dad's side of the family for about a week and half in Seoul. Other than that, she was definitely mostly at home becoming a hermit for a bit lol. RW: Went to the Quidditch World Cup with Harry and Hermione (and his family) where he got to ignore the things happening in the world. Probably slept over at Harry's and Hermione's a lot when he wasn't at home because his mom stresses him out and he'd rather not be in that energy if he can help that. He also was a part-time kiddies quidditch referee, which he surprisingly enjoyed... partly because seeing the kids' clumsiness was funny.
WHAT’S your character’s stance on werewolves now, after all of the happenings and attacks over the past year?
RA: She isn't particularly suspicious of werewolves in general because she gives anyone the benefit of the doubt, but she's highly suspicious of what's been happening with the ministry and doesn't trust the werewolf task force. RW: Because of his family's history with werewolves, he's never liked them much. With the attacks and such? He really doesn't like them right now, especially because of the threat they pose to his family and friends. He wouldn't wish being a werewolf on anyone, even his enemies.
WHAT was your character’s reaction to the news that dumbledore was missing? what about when it was revealed that he died?
RA: It struck terrible fear in her heart, especially his death. The castle always felt safe with him in it, and now without it, she doesn't know if she can find the same comfort she did before. Wth everything unfolding, she feels like she always needs to look over her shoulder now. RW: Shock, then fear, then anger. Ron still cannot believe it, honestly - who had the gall and power to overtake a legendary wizard like Dumbledore? What would this mean for the wizarding world? Ron doesn't know, but god dammit he's going to be angry about it.
