Harrison Miller

Avatar of the Lonely.

Grew up in a small town where two avatars of the Buried lived. While there were always rumors about what those avatars got up to, noone ever had any proof. Harrison usually ignored the claims and was quite open about his disbelief of them, despite the stories of encounters piling up.

When he had his own encounter with the buried, he didn't believe it at first. He convinced himself he had imagined it, though it didn't stop him from being scared. When it happened again, he started trying to act to stop it, still convinced he was being paranoid, making it up. But whatever he did, it kept happening. Eventually, he was worn down and had to admit what was happening to him was real.

He left home, trying to get away, but it kept following him. He couldn't find anything to keep himself safe from it. After a while of running, he found an avatar of the Vast who was happy to let him travel alongside them. They kept him safe for a while, but when the two of then found a place that seemed to be protected from the Buried, he insisted on staying there. The avatar of the Vast left.

It only took a couple weeks before he realised the place he found wasn't safe and he had to start moving again. By himself, without the person he had grown so accustomed to having with him. He didn't didn't have a way of finding them again. He didn't mind when the Lonely started settling in and by the time the Buried caught up, giving in and letting the Lonely take him didn't feel like a choice, but an inevitability.

Mo Spencer

An avatar if the Vast who was always drawn to travelling. As a kid, they learnt languages to try and help with that need. The few trips they took with their family family little to help, though they always found a way into the Vast- falling while climbing a tree, or into the ocean.

When they finally Became, they left home and started traveling the world, going wherever they wanted and doing whatever they though would be fun with little care about the consequences.

They're aromantic, though still sometimes end up with a partner, just for the fun of it. Usually, when they travel with someone else, really end up leaving the other person behind, often without reason other than because they felt like it.
