amount of sleep:  i've been dealing with some severe insomnia the past few months and i was about to say it's gotten better lately but i literally did not sleep last night so um. hm

dream job:  my current job without the customer service aspect of it... aka pretty much just data entry and check processing

dream trip: i've only been outside the us once so it's hard to narrow down one. i'd like to eventually visit russia for obvious hélène research reasons and see places mentioned in the novel, as well as the tolstoy museum. and rn i wanna go to the genshin pop-up at the universal beijing resort but that ends in 10 days and i have no money so that's probably not gonna happen :/

favorite food: i'm so hungry rn so i've got like 10 things rotating in my head. i'm just gonna say frollies ice pops because in my surgery recovery that was the only thing that didn't make me feel sick to eat. i still go through like at least half a box a day i'm ngl

play any instruments: i tried learning piano and guitar as a kid but never really got into them and i don't really have much interest in learning now tbh? maybe eventually though!

languages:  only english. i took spanish and french in high school and russian in college and i retained almost nothing from any of them... i do really want to prioritize working on learning russian and french though because they're never gonna publish an official translation of the war and peace drafts and i NEED to read them

001. This is a private and independent writing blog for Hélène Kuragina of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace. My portrayal is based entirely on the novel and personal headcanon, with no inspiration from the musical or various adaptions beyond some visual inspiration here and there. I've been writing Hélène for over a decade now and in many ways she's become my own, but my portrayal is primarily rooted in expanding upon the original source material.

002. I will only write with mutuals and will likely be practicing an amount of selectivity with who I follow. Please don't take it personally if I don't follow back or if I unfollow or block. I've been roleplaying for about 18 years and I've been in the indie RPC for about 14 years, so by now I just know what I'm interested in and what I'm not interested in engaging with. My focus is on prioritizing character development and in-depth plotting.

003. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, zionism, etc. will not be tolerated. Use of AI will not be tolerated. I also do not condone the explicit writing of physical abuse, incest, pedophilia, or rape. While not everyone can ignore these topics within their character's narrative, including myself, please have some common decency and responsibility with how you handle these topics in your writing.

004. On that note, please be advised that triggering material will arise on this blog. There will be discussions of death, suicide, overdose, pregnancy, abortion, incest, child abuse, domestic abuse, and sexual harassment/abuse. As my priority is character study above all else, the presence of these topics will likely be abundant, as they are aspects of her character that cannot be ignored. If this will be triggering or uncomfortable for you, you may not want to interact with my blog. I do not take offense to blocking. Do what you need to do to keep yourself safe.

— Additionally, please keep this in mind when interacting with this blog both IC and OOC. Hélène's behavior is heavily informed by the abuse she has survived, particularly her parents' emotional neglect and her brother's incestuous abuse. Her story is defined by her inability to escape the cycle of abuse she is in. Needless to say, interactions will require extensive plotting and care. Incest jokes and slut-shaming will result in blocking. — Do not follow me if you ship Hélène and Anatole. It is impossible to ignore the complex nature of their dynamic and its impact on Hélène, but this will always be discussed with the understanding that it is abuse.

005. I will not be following minors and I request that minors do not follow me, either. Not only am I an adult who has no desire to write with minors, but also Hélène as a character lends herself to adult material due to the nature of her story. Sexual material will be present, but only written with people I'm already comfortable with.

006. I do not agree with the characterization in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 and will not be following blogs with portrayals based on it. I will also not be following blogs for muses from Harry Potter, Stranger Things, or those portraying real people, including KRP and historical figures. There are many other fandoms, etc., that I either won't interact with or will be wary about interacting with, but, in the end, if I don't follow you, I don't want to write with you.

007. My formatting is fairly simple, only using small script, etc. If anyone needs any adjustments to better read my writing, please let me know. I'm happy to change anything to make writing easier for a partner.

008. While my PSD and all of the graphics appearing on this blog were made by me, much of my graphic inspiration comes from the lovely Anya @vivrez, who also made my pinned audio. ♡

009. I’m not Russian nor do I speak Russian and will therefore refrain from writing in Russian. All Russian (and French, as Hélène primarily communicates in French in the novel) that occurs will be taken from untranslated novel quotes. If anyone notices any mistakes in my use of the languages, please let me know! You'd think after writing a Russian character after a decade I'd have learned the language by now, but... Well. One day, I'm sure.
