“ Honestly it depends, you won’t have to worry about Rabastan fucking his brother, but also you worry about him trying to murder you. I don’t get Rabastan he would probably try to take over a king of England one day with his insane ego.” As children she stayed clear of him for the most time, but he was mostly sad and she felt bad for him. Now it seemed all that sadness turned into anger and rage. “ I would never be bitter when married to you, but thank you for caring so much for me. I only want what is best for you, and what could be better than I?” She teased. “ It is good, I don’t know what I would do without you here.”

She laughed, “ That will just break his heart, maybe if you tell him he will call off the whole wedding, but they might try to pair you off with Rabastan. And I would hate to have to cut his balls off.” Lucinda smiled at her. “ Would rather marry someone I love and could have fun with, but we don’t have to be marry to rule the world together. I think romantic love was a one and done for me, I’m fine with that.” Lucinda looked around the room. “ Pretty much.”

Lucinda snorted at her comment, “ Will you have to get a bed so all three of you can fit?” she teased. Lucinda thought over what she said for a moment, Lucinda was sure she only loved one person romantically and while it didn’t work out, she doubt she would love anyone’s like that. “ I would rather marry someone I love anyway, then someone that would letter break my heart. I know you wouldn’t do that.” Lucinda was a hopeless romantic, but she was always a realist and just because she wanted to be in love forever, didn’t mean someone else would and she wouldn’t risk her heart. “ See, I am already looking out for you, but mainly myself. If  I get stuck in a corner with anyone that smells heavily of inbreeding I will need drinks.”

“ He is afraid of being outdone and would rather keep you down than let you grow to be the amazing person you are. He is all fine with his sister being better than him, not his wife.” Lucinda wanted to find him tonight and at least hex him to making a fool of himself tonight. Lucinda smiled, shaking her head. “ You make it seem like something I wouldn’t enjoy just as much as you. You deserve the world, and I am happy to burn it down for you and make whatever way you want it. Now let’s go get something to drink.”

Lucinda rolled her eyes, people really needed to get their heads out of their asses. Women and men should be able to chose what they want their role in life. She remembered how much a noose the pureblood lifestyles was like around her neck. “ Hopefully before you have to subject yourself to that sort of torture,” Amycus wasn’t awful, she would rather sleep with his sister than him. “ We would make quite the pair, Em,” she smiled. “ Just saw the word and I’ll make it happen for you.” There was no limit to what she would do for his best friend.

“ Get that tattoos across my forehead, and put it on a billboard. Women are by far the future and the only thing that will save those dumbass men from themselves.” Lucinda would be more than happy to take care of Emma’s parents for her like she did her own, but she wasn’t going to interfere with her life unless she asked her to. She respected her too much to behave like a man. “ Amycus is weak, I’m sure he will get himself locked up or killed and you will  be free. If we marry it would be the event of the century, after honeymooning in Hawaii you’ll come back and run for Minster, and we will be in charge of things,” she smiled squeezing her arm for a shoulder for a moment.  

“ We both know women are better at a lot of things besides throwing parties. Life will be so golden when the older generation died and we can finally moved into the 21 century. It’s 2021 for godsake, you shouldn’t have to marry some asshole wannabe alpha male. Honestly we should get married and tell them all to fuck off.”

“ I think you are accomplishing it, we both off. The room can’t keep their eyes off of you. You are truly a vison.” She promised looking around the room, it was of course elegant and perfect. “ This is how you throw a paper, and you should remind everyone you did it without a man by your side.”

“ My outfit is nothing compared to yours, darling. You look amazing, though I didn’t doubt you would come ready to kill with your looks.” She said hugging her tightly ignoring everyone around them. Lucinda was always invite to the balls and never cared to come, but this one was host by someone near and dear to her.

“You’re looking absolutely stunning as always. Glad you could make it with your ever so busy schedule.” she said teasing her best friend before pulling her into a hug ignoring the rest of the arriving guests. If they expected her to be a proper host then they truly knew nothing of her

Personal Headcanon: With the war coming to a close Emma knew it was a bad idea for her son to share his father's name. While she never hid the pregnancy or child from Rabastan she wouldn't change her mind about the child having her last name when he's born. She didn't know what side was going to win and the chance that the Lestrange name would be tainted was too high. She was going to give her child his best chance. Alex knows well who his father is and what he believed him and Emma has never steered him toward any type of thinking as she didn't care on way or the other but she made sure he knew who he was and where he came from and that gave him a leg up. Having that sense of self allowed him to fit in no matter where he was and still know who he was at the end of it.

He didn’t want to agree with her, but Rod was fragile. If it was anyone else he would call them weak, but Rod was anything but weak, their childhood was proof of that. “ He is fine, he has us in his corner.” He was more than happy to be there for his brother. “ Then I guess we should stay on each other good side.” He said relaxing on her bed. “ isn’t that better than marrying some boring pureblood that would do nothing but be a disappointment. We would have a fun month.” He grinned. “ I will agree, Malfoy and Rosier are both disappointments in the sack. I am sure I am better than little Gamp, or what is so going by now. Talksalot, or something.”

“I’ll be in your corner until I can’t be. I love you both but you have to realize I’m not risking everything for you. I have too much self respect for that just like I hope you’d do the same.” she said honestly with him. She laid next to him turning on her side. “I’ll admit I’d rather you than most my parents are setting me up with but I’m not willing to throw away my self worth on someone who might stab me in my sleep cause he’s tired being beaten by a girl.” she said. “I know you don’t have her name in your mouth. She’s a fucking star above you.”

“ A crack? Do you honestly believe that?” He wasn’t stupid to how close they are to being found out, but these days the Death Eaters has taken over the ministry and he could get away with just about anything.  “ I am a friend Vanity, calm down.” He said with an eye roll. “ I wouldn’t except anything less from you, Emma. You know if I had to pick a bride, you would be it. Strong, not a pushover.” He said leaning closer to her. “ I’m sure I’m better than the pureblood men you have slept with.” 

“I do. I love Roddie but we both know he’s so fragile.” she said simply. She knew the man get be blown over and she’d support him up until she couldn’t anymore. “And I’m a friend too. Until you prove I can’t be.” she patted his cheek. “We’d fucking rip each other to shreds in a month. You’d be tired of the push back cause you know you can’t get your way with me. And I’d grow bored of your ego.” she said simply she rolled her eyes. “That’s because pureblood men ain’t shit. Whose there to compare you to. Lucius fucking Malfoy. Rosier. Who wants those little pricked assholes when you’re a queen.” she grinned. “now throw in some of the girls and you’d think you’d never seen a puddle you’re blown so far out of the water.
