Summary:

On the first day of College Bram is approached by a strange man. Bram thinks he's being invited to a fraternity initiation, but what Bram doesn't know is that he is secretly a young angel, the man is his father, and Daddy's there to bring the new baby home. Enter the nursery where fledglings are kept shrunk down for easy management. Bram does not plan to stick around. After all, he has an education to get to! Too bad for him Daddy has tons of experience dealing with fussy fledglings. Or, It’s kind of like Percy Jackson, but there’s angels and spankings.

Some male angels do stay on earth to raise their gracelings. Leon is kind of an asshole for leaving the baby mamas. An angel who stays on earth can have multiple gracelings at the same time. That's what Leon's mother did. You just have to have them quite close in close so that their graces settle around the same time. That's the good thing with twins! (Not that Leon is a twin. But he did have twins.)

And yes, just like you're saying, if an angel wants to raise the new baby full time on earth it would be preferable if their older children are fledged. There's bound to be someone who has left their older children with a relative though, I imagine.

I don't think Leon would make an effort to be more involved with a future graceling. He would definitely fetch the kid earlier though! Bram is considered late. I imagine he would leave more detailed instructions for the mother, too, or maybe pick a mother in an environment where the child is less likely to develop the kind of independent critical thinking that Bram did. *Cough* he'd be going for the cults *cough* (jk. (Or am I?))

Angels do not have relationships with each other. Or rather, it's taboo. They're discouraged from even having long term relationships with humans. Sexual interaction (with humans) outside of reproduction is viewed as lustful. Can't have that ☝️

You're spot on that angel mental healthcare is close to non existent. "Try praying more!" *finger guns* Heaven is very tuned to all the ongoing (and upcoming) conflicts in the world, so if anything was to go down, I'm sure an angel would be able to swoop in and grab any graceling who risks being affected. They can't control everything, of course, so I'm sure there's some fledgling out there who has some serious, undiagnosed PTSD. "Try praying more!" *more finger guns*

A graceling being raised by their angel parent would never have the chance to lose their virginity. 

If the angel parent is absent during the graceling stage (à la Leon), they trust the human parent to enforce "proper” values into the graceling. It is extremely rare that a graceling would be left on Earth alone, even if the human parent would die.

It's interesting that Rebecca and Sarah (according to your chart) are the most loyal and well-behaved of Leon's children...I wonder if it has to do with the world and how religious it can be based on the time period. They were around the time where religion and loyalty to heaven were a keystone in society (whether big or small a lot of values formed from many religions), so I take it once the shock wore off, they were thrilled to be angels (I take it, it didn't take them too long to accept it).

I'd say the same for the rest of the children except for Jack (mr. black sheep who I'm looking forward to learning more about his reasons for running away) and Bram, where religion is still around but at by 2010s atheism has started to become more common, and more people have become open about questioning or even mocking religion as a whole.

You are absolutely right! Like Ann said when Leon arrived at their house, back in the day gracelings were told about their angel heritage, but Bram never found out.

It's funny though, because reading this I realized that I've managed to set it up as every other homecoming being fairly well behaved, and every other is more of a rebel. But as you said, it gradually gets worse and worse.

Rebecca and Sarah - Very well behaved

Jack - Used to be well behaved but has his reasons...

Theresa - Very well behaved, ambitious

Adrian - Has trouble at school, but is overall behaved.

Hannah - Very well behaved but doubts Daddy sometimes

Mariel - More of a dare devil. Pretty poor manners.

Nathan - Loves Daddy and loves rules. But is a brat.

Some spoilers for The book of Heartbreak.

There's angels, and they work in an office-like hierarchy.

The male love interest is named LEON. He gets possessed by an angel at one point, so we basically have an angel named Leon for a few minutes.

The angels in this book have the power to SHRINK other angels that are lower than them in the hierarchy(!!) So right at the start of this book we're introduced to a 30cm tall ethereal. i.e a tiny lady with wings who helps out the MC.

BIG SPOILER: Right at the end of the book the MC finds out that she's actually half angel and that her angel father has been causing a ton of triangle drama amongst the females in her family, which in turn caused a curse. And he tries to convince her to become an angel, kind of, and help him rule Earth. He shows her his true form to try and convince her. He tells her to stop throwing a tantrum about it and everything.

And I'm just like... Did this author read my story and get some ideas?? 😃 It came out in 2025, so it's totally possible.

The book wasn't amazing or anything, so I won't tell you to go read it, but it would be fun if anyone could confirm or tell me I'm delulu.

What are the exact differences between angles and demons? Would they be similar genetically and stuff since a lot of demons like lucifer being fallen angles?

So here’s the thing: Fallen angels and demons are not the same thing at all in GFS. Angels were originally concentrated bundles of grace, basically, who decided it would be more convenient to have human vessels/bodies. They don’t even have souls. (No, fledglings don’t know this. Yes, Bram is going to have an existential crisis when he finds out, come time.) Meanwhile demons are their own separate race of beings. If you’ve seen The Good Place, it’s kinda like that. Except in GFS demons are fully capable of running around on Earth, like in Supernatural.

Would angels view the majority of demons as bad parents?

Oh they definitely do, even if demons aren’t angels turned bad. But that’s just because most angels are racist AF 💀 Angels do judge the parents of fallen angels, too, though. While people definitely feel bad for Leon, they definitely talk behind his back, too.

Has their ever been an angle who gained fame or historical significance before they graced and henced "died young”?
