That there might be frustration as the young girl learned through trial and error. And a young wolf's emotions fluctuated and grew before they were even capable of shifting. That a third child after a focused and promising older child and a wild card like her older sister might be found, too much to handle. How did you stand out when you were under the shadow of two siblings that shaded you so deeply? For Zoë that was never the case. While her father shaped and worked her oldest brother and tried to reign in her older sister, their mother doted and pampered the youngest child, and to her father the youngest girl could do no wrong. The baby, the princess, the sweetest little pup.
Constant fawning and attention has its own draw backs, and the older Zoë gets the more her demeanor shifts, the more the tantrums start up when the young wolf doesn't get her way. A Zoë meltdown could be destructive, explosive. And after her first shift they only grew in magnitude. The simplest way to curb them is to give in. And oh, how their mother would cave. How their father would give in to the young girl's wants. That was until Felicity went from trying to shine to exploding in a creature of rebellion.
She hates the prestigious all-girl's school in the rolling Swedish hills. The meltdown is catastrophic. Screams and destruction, protests and a simmering anger and resentment when for the first time in her life the 'No' she is given is final. When she's forced on a plane and sent across the ocean. It isn't hard to accustom herself to the school, despite how she despises this punishment Zoë plays the charming, sweet little rich girl who goes on little mental health days once a month. As time goes by she finds the school has its perks, and when graduation comes she decides she prefers to stay.
On her own in a castle of a mansion, mother still doting on her from afar as she lives the way she sees fit. A carousel of partners and parties revolving through her door. Meanwhile, parents still maintain that she is nothing if not innocent. And then it comes through a rushed phone call. She's high off her ass, stretched out in a float in her pool. He's dead. Her father is dead, and the pack is struggling with its Alpha sliced away.
'Stay where you are.' Casper demands and for once she doesn't fight or protest. She sits and waits. Mother says they are keeping her safe. A princess in a gilded cage. She mourns his loss, mourns the ache of being so far when she just wants to be with her pack. Her family. She's supposed to stay, supposed to keep away as their pack is taken over, as Casper fights to keep Varcolac on top of the East-side food chain.
But she boards a plane, commercial to keep under the radar. She thinks of their vacation home in the Pacific North-West. Landing in Portland, exhausted and set to hide somewhere no one would think to look for her. What she isn't expecting is word of Flick's presence in the city. Felicity is in Port Leiry, guess it is time for a family reunion.
