“Or was that a lil too unexpected?”

And so with that rather hypocritical statement does he pull off his flannel, handing it to the woman 

“Go on. I don’t got all night.”

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? A few months maybe. Enough time to where the seasons changed drastically and the nights had become much longer in his favor. Though Marshall was never one to keep count with these sort of things. especially when he had ended up alone back home once more. Would anyone after being trapped in a metaphorical hell hole for more than a year? To celebrate his freedom was the last thing on his mind. Especially since they had forgotten to send a little extra something-- someone along with him back to Ooo. 

The opposite exchange he doesn’t mind much of. So long as he regained his items and had a roof over his head, there was no reason to pout. He had somewhere to be. Someone to pay a little visit to, to say the least. 

And he knew exactly where she would be.

It takes a little longer than expected, of course. Having temporarily forgotten his way around the sectors and such after not venturing among them for weeks when he was so used to a set regimen. Though luckily that decaying brain of his hadn’t completely fooled him over. Oh no, not one bit. It was rather difficult not to stumble upon a giant tree house in the middle of the forest, wouldn’t one agree? 

And so he inhales deeply, fingers mindlessly plucking at the guitar given to him during his last run in this damn city. Steam rolling off his tongue among the fall night as he finally released the breath he had been holding. Holding because--. . . Well, for a lot of reasons. The “what ifs” and “maybes” pushed towards the back of his mind as he pushed himself to float to her bedroom window with the instrument in hand. Swallowing the dry aching lump in his throat, a slight grin on his face as he readied himself for what gift was to be given.

It’s now or never, kiddo.
