If the multiverse is real, then there’s definitely a universe where someone walked into the Pretty Little Liars : Original Sin writing room and said :

‘Hey! So I’ve been thinking… The original premise that we came up with doesn’t make much sense… So what if we just focused on the 1999/2000 timeline instead and made a prequel to the original show that would explain the gruesome origins of ‘A’ through a story that follows five high school bullies trying to escape a vengeful killer? I mean, we already have the actresses and the sets, so now we just have to come up with a compelling story!’

And the other writers agreed and the show became very successful because it was very well-written. These actresses are now celebrities and Marlene King is seething because someone managed to make a show that is better than the original simply by being caring and consistent with the writing.

I kinda like the idea of a First Kill reboot where Calliope is a goth girl and wears a lot of black while Juliette is preppier and wears brighter colors because it would subvert expectations regarding the usual designs of vampire and human characters. It would also make sense because Juliette and her family try to blend in amongst humans while Calliope might feel a bit like an outsider due to her being part of a family of vampire hunters!

They’d basically be this meme when they’d see each other for the first time :

Had they not canceled the show and poured a little more effort into writing and designing it, First Kill could have become the Buffy The Vampire Slayer or Vampire Diaries of the 2020s.

The show is…a bit cheesy, yes, HOWEVER! The comedy is decent and non-cringe, the romance isn’t forced at all, and we get to see character development between the girls.

I’d recommend giving it a watch, and see for yourself if you enjoy it or not. DO NOT listen to dramatubers trying to tell you what and what not to watch.

Why are people so bothered by people who still wear face-masks outside? I wear one every time I go outside, not just for hygiene reasons but also because I am self-conscious about my face and I like when people can’t see it, especially when I have to interact with others. And sometimes people will (politely) ask me why I’m wearing one and I’ll answer that it’s a habit, or to take public transportations or just because I sometimes get sick (when I am). But tonight, while I was queueing to buy food, the man behind me went « Are you scared of Covid or something? ». I could tell just by the tone in his voice that he was bothered. So I pretended not to hear him the first time. Then he asked again. So I turned to him and said. « It’s to take public transportations. », to which he replied with an aggressively exasperated tone « But we’re not in public transportations!! Does it not bother you? ». I just reply calmly that it doesn’t. So he goes again « This is unbelievable! Are you aware that you’re breathing— » I stopped listening to him at that point, shrugged and stepped forward because it was my turn to order.

Like… This is the third time in my life that a complete stranger invades my personal space and discourses to me about the dangers of wearing a mask while I’m minding my business because they’re personally offended by the fact that I, someone they don’t know, don’t care about and will never see again, wears one in public. « You’re breathing your own carbon dioxide! » I DON’T CARE. OKAY??? I DON’T!!!! I’m not saying there’s no danger to wearing a mask on the daily, but in the end, I do whatever I want and wear whatever I want. There’s much worse fashion choices, like wearing a MAGA hat, a nazi symbol or dying your hair the color of your country’s flag to watch a goddamn football game!!! And people are bothered by strangers who wear a mask? The rest of my body is visible and identifiable, it’s not like I’m covered from head to toes with only my eyes visible! Move along! 🙄 I almost told him « The only person who seems truly bothered by this, is you actually. »

Some ideas for a First Kill reboot

I’ve been having those ideas since 2022. This show could have been the hit vampire show of the 2020s considering the massive audience it had gathered and how much people anticipated it. But we all know Netflix never had the intention to renew it. They only wanted to bait LGBT people (more specifically Lesbians) into subscribing during Pride Month. It’s so apparent they made it with no passion when it had so much potential! So here are my ideas as to how it could be “revamped”. It’s not perfect nor organized in any way because they’re merely just ideas, but hopefully they’d make better foundations for a successful vampire show! So here we go.

- Set in college rather than high school

- The girls are 21 when the show starts

- Juliette is a (seemingly) confident preppy girly girl who modeled her appearance after her older sister Elinor, her role model

- Calliope is the one who is more shy and unassuming and has more of an alt vibe (Yes, yes, I know Wicked fans. It’s giving Galinda x Elphaba but trust me when I tell you it’s purely coincidental because I had those ideas before I even knew what Wicked was about)

- Elinor runs a sorority (very important for the plot)

- Vampires’ design in this universe are inspired by serpents (since they have a connection to the serpent of Eden)

- The story starts with a student being found dead on campus

- Juliette and her family know that it’s not just a murder

- Calliope and her family have just been moved to Savannah, Georgia by The Guild because monsters (specifically vampires) have been spotted again after decades

- Calliope is still an apprentice and feels excited to hunt down the ones causing trouble in Savannah

- Juliette is struggling with her vampiric heritage and urges as she is entering her 20s

- When they first see each other, they’re immediately bedazzled by each other’s beauty, but Cal thinks a preppy girl like Juliette would never even glance at her and Juliette thinks Cal probably sees her as too shallow and vapid, so none of them dares making a move (remember the meme about the girly girl dressed in pink and the goth girl secretly finding each other hot but not daring to make a move? Yeah, well it’s basically that lol)

- But then they eventually meet and befriend each other

- Romantic feelings grow between them while they both secretly investigate with their respective families on the various murders occurring in Savannah

- The Fairmonts know it’s none of them because they don’t kill people (they only use compulsion to drink blood from people)

- The Burns start to suspect that the Fairmonts might be vampires

- Calliope doesn’t want to believe Jules is a vampire at first but her family pressures her into “testing” Juliette and see how she reacts to certain items (iron, religious symbols, blood, etc.)

- At one point, Cal has no choice but to face the truth, but she doesn’t confront Juliette about it

- They get invited to a party and that’s one when the Kitchen Scene happens

- They have their first kiss but Juliette can’t control herself and bites Calliope while Calliope tries to stake her but fails (maybe she cries a little bit while doing it)

- Both of them run away

- They avoid each other for a while but don’t talk about any of it to their families

- They try to hate each other

- But at some point, each of them realizes they can’t stay away from each other and they both need answers , so they have a little talk

- They eventually kinda resume their romance and start investigating on the deaths together

- Calliope finds out that what she’s been taught about vampires isn’t entirely true

- Students all around campus start dying or disappearing

- Oliver, Juliette and Elinor’s estranged brother shows up and the Fairmonts are convinced he’s the vampire behind it all

- We find out Oliver is not half a vampire like his sisters but a full Legacy Vampire, born from a union between Margot and another Legacy Vampire a long time ago

- It is also revealed that Margot used to live amongst some kind of vampire royalty (similar to the Volturi from Twilight) centuries ago but left and decided to live amongst humans (her husband was a monster in every way and she had fallen for a human [who later was killed]so she ran away and tried to get her son to come with her but he didn’t want to, as his father had already brainwashed him)

- She met her now-husband a few centuries later

- At first Oliver appears to be the one causing trouble, but the characters find out he’s innocent and is not there to harm anyone

- He reveals he has left the ancient vampires’ court and his father because he no longer agreed with their ways and wanted to find his mother

- Some of the girls at Elinor’s sorority start dying and Elinor becomes determined to find out who is trying to mess with her friends

- Calliope and Juliette think some vampires followed Oliver, found Margot and are trying to mess with her life as revenge for “betraying them”

- But it turns out, Elinor is the one causing all of it

- She had secretly been running a cult at her sorority and is trying to create a coven

- She’s also preparing a ritual to become a full Legacy Vampire and join the ancient vampires’ court her mother used to be a part of, along with the young women she turned

- Calliope and Juliette find out and have to try and find a way to stop her together

- Meanwhile, Elinor is already influencing one of Calliope’s brothers and is slowly turning him

Additional piece of lore :

- Gorgons exist and secretly live amongst humans but have to wear glasses or contacts and drink a special potion (or maybe human blood) to make sure their hair looks human and the snakes don’t show up

- Gorgons also descend from the Serpent of Eden
