Remember when the idea of queer spaces other than bars came up, queer cafés in particular, which would benefit a lot of people, but it got mocked relentlessly because so many ace ppl were supporting that

Or how people acted as if it's a two sided issue and aspec ppl could just, opt out the discourse, as if being openly aspec on Tumblr more often than not would get you harassed, whether you participate or not

Or how aphobia became like a big joke, making bringing awareness to it much more difficult, like if you even mentioned "oh op/this post is aphobic" it'd get you mocked and made fun of

Or the "ace Margaret Thatcher" edits, and other "jokes" like that people even outside of the discourse would reblog because it was "funny"

Or how people would get harassed for just supporting ace people, like how they cancelled Thomas Sanders

Or how one of the major arguments was that you need to experience "same sex attraction" to be queer, which excluded not just aspec people but also like. a majority of the community (which, this one is still kinda happening, but.)
