"I happen to be, yes." Oddly enough, she was quite right on her assumptions. "I just arrived here. The people are a tad distrustful. I get them, not like I look any better. But... I really need to get a word with the local butcher."
His words were nothing short of cryptic. But as abstract as he was, his tone was honest.
"The people of Thylanor are mostly friendly. To be fair, your mask and overall clothing might make you intimidating to them." Valeria did not ask why he was going to the butcher's shop, nor did she care to learn. She was a reserved person herself and he did not share much.
"Welcome in!" An all to familiar voice would call out. Despite the early morning hour, inside the tavern was fairly active, most having some kind of breakfast meal with a group of dwarves nursing incoming hangovers.
"Take a seat wherever you like!" It had only been a few years but Kengou looked barely any different, his hair was still black with that shock of white, tied back and free of his face. He was focused on making something and didn't meet her gaze just yet, though that would be certain to change.
Although faces were easy to forget with time, voices were not, and Valeria's ears twitched when she heard that familiar voice. Is that Kengou?, she questioned mentally before looking in the direction where the voice came from. She smiled upon confirming it was indeed him and sat by the counter. It had been at least forty years since they saw each other last.
"Good moning sir. I would like something to eat... Do you still make those famous lemon cakes that were promised to taste?"
Sareth's head tilted to the side, ears twitching slightly. Was this true, he wondered. Casting certain magics was... a skill, to be experimented with, if no less dangerous.
"That's not usually a skill that one... learns by theory alone. You are quite the adept, if you can work these effects by written theoretics alone."
Even though he was a stranger and she was in the middle of a clearing alone (which she was using to practice a large lightning spell), Valeria was trusting of people whom she felt not suspicion about. He seemed like he meant no disrespect or to harm her in any way. Hence her elaborating on the topic at hand.
