I draw sometimes, mostly Valyom because I love him, he's my favourite OC I've ever made.

He is incredibly ugly but his personality? Wow, it sucks as well.

He is very charming, I will say that.

It was my first time making a doll, of course, so I didn't expect incredible results, but I absolutely outdid myself on this one. I am terrible with clay and sculpting and all of this, so being able to make something of this kind was a wonderful experience for me.

The wig took me about 3-4 hours of uninterrupted work to make. It's entirely wool that I hand tied together and then separated each strand into 3 pieces. It will never be brushed because it would cause it to shed until it's only a few centimeters long. Are there better wig making methods? Absolutely, but this is what I improvised and it's what I'd like to do for my next one as well. I love the finished product and it's incredibly soft! It's also very curly, which is exactly how his hair is supposed to be.

I am currently working on my next doll, of my DnD character, and it's already an incredible improvement from this one. It will also be ball jointed, unlike this one which is held together by metal wire, hot glue and pure faith.

I am learning quickly, shockingly, and I'd really like to share my next one when it is done. Although he will be bald until september as the specialised store I buy from won't sell wool out of season (understandably).

He is missing a few details still (Including most of his clothes...) but I am not sure when I will be making them, my specialisation in sewing is plushmaking, I find clothes a little frustrating to make, but I will get it done when I feel more motivated, as much as it pains me to cover up his jewellery.

I'd say dollmaking is a very fun new hobby to me that I'd love to continue working on for a long time, as expensive as it is to continue buying industrial quantities of clay and tons of high end watercolour pencils... It's incredibly fulfilling, as well as satisfying, and I very much enjoy creating things with my own hands in the end, it's a beautiful process, I hope to someday create things that look as good in practice as they do in my plans, but it will take quite some time of course.

Overall, I am happy and thriving in my new hobby.

my art has improved a little.

I'm not so much into TES anymore (still love it, just not current interest), but I am very into Baldur's Gate 3 which as I'm sure anyone reading this knows is a very easy next step.

Have I finished it? NO! I'm still in ACT I because I'm slooooow with games, but it is really fun.

I'm also finally getting to play DnD and I'd love to share everything involving the characters and stories taking place.

what I'm trying to say is, if anyone is still interested in my arts (yes arts, I do multiple things, most of them badly but what matters is having fun.) let me know, I'd love to share as long as I'm not sharing it with no one.

🛀🏿 Is bathing a luxury or a chore for them? Are they a long, sybaritic soak sort of bather, or a just-getting-clean sort?

it's more of a chore than anything if he's doing it by himself since he gets dirty pretty often with his main pastime, but if there are some nice men helping him out then it's very enjoyable and he's happy for it to last as long as possible.

💁🏾‍♀️ What is their hare care regimen like? Do they color, straighten, curl, or otherwise change their hair regularly?

Suiri takes great care to brush it twice a day and wash it very little to maintain its natural oils. he also uses egg masks on his hair from time to time to help with keeping it healthy. he can't see himself, but he sure as heck will ensure that anyone who can see him will see the prettiest twink possible.

🥝 How much body hair do they have? Do they prefer to remove it, groom it, or go au naturel?

Suiri grows a pretty regular amount of body hair, if not less than average. his chest and back are naturally free of hair while the rest of his body still grows it. he doesn't shave it, it's not common for folk in skyrim to shave regardless, need that fur to fight against the cold!

💅🏽 How do they keep their nails, long or short? Do they paint or decorate them? Do they bite their nails or pick at their cuticles?

Valyom allows his nails to grow wild until it starts genuinely affecting his ability to do things, at which point he cuts them. He doesn't decorate them, he believes nails' only purpose is to dig earwax out of someone's ear.

I commissioned someone for a plush of Valyom a while ago but never posted it, but here he is, he is lovely and really small (about 13cm)

I think the ref I gave was a little too stylised because he ended up with boobs but honestly I think it adds to it, I like my breasted hairy elf guy.

I specifically asked for his hair to be kept curly as it's an important detail of his and they DELIVERED, I love the way they did his hair!

His gold details are painted rather than embroidered, it looks perfectly fine in my opinion and I don't mind it.

the seller was DaNangCraft on etsy if anyone is interested, they were very lovely and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it before shipping him! With shipping and taxes it came up to about €70, but they have different sizes with different prices, if you message them directly they also change the price (based on complexity I assume) which is how I got mine cheaper than the listed price.

they also make other plushies, not just oc ones, I can't vouch for their quality but I'd assume, based on my experience, that they'd be just as good! maybe even better, depending on what you get, I'm not familiar with their specialisations. personally I plan on finding out by buying a pet plush someday to immortalise my dear dog as she's getting old (she's 10 and getting little white eyebrows).

this is meant as a review as I'm extremely happy with the little guy and believe we should give exposure (on top of money, not as money) to sellers we like! support businesses and all, exposure does help pay the bills too and when i start my own plushmaking business I do hope someone will do the same for me! put out the energy you'd like to see in the world.
