three separate tomodachi life islands i feel like an overworked mayor

au where lilys a struggling writer who just quit her much more stable job to chase her dreams and marlene just joined a band as a drummer to look for some more money and they end up meeting at a small bar and becoming close to each other again. but actually they're exes. yeah. and they broke up because of a big, big misunderstanding that NEITHER of them tried to clear up and its been 5 years since theyve seen each other but theyve literally never stopped thinking abt each other + first and foremost theyve always been each others bsf so-

clearing out 2 year old drafts with no more fear anymore of being judged because ive reminded myself that actually, no one is out to get me

jarty mechanic au. bartys a ratty mechanic somewhere downtown and james was recommended barty's shop by someone (im thinking marlene, whos ays this begrudgingly) after his car kept breaking down so he decides to give it a try because why not? barty keeps insulting james' car, in a joking-but-not-really way. james is lowk pissed, and starts insulting barty's looks. they both find each other (frustratingly enough) hot.
