Unexpected Part 10 {Reiner Braun X Reader}
Overview: The final part to this much loved series.
It had been months since you had been told Reiner's verdict, six months in fact. Funnily enough, you were six months pregnant with Reiner's second child. Reiner had been great with you throughout and you knew he would continue to be great as the minutes to the big day ticked down. At this point in time you sat on the sofa with Luka who was tracing shapes and pictures onto your baby bump while Reiner made you some tea and some food for Luka. "Are you sure you don't want any food, baby?" Reiner asked you as he placed Luka's dinner on the table.
"No thank you lovely," you replied.
"Are you sure?" Reiner asked, raising an eyebrow. "Remember, you're eating for two now."
Oh you knew, you couldn't forget. Your pregnancy with Luka had been calm: if it wasn't for the overbearing baby bump weight, you wouldn't have known you were pregnant. The most bizarre thing you craved was Levi's tea and you barely ever got morning sickness. This baby, however, was the complete opposite. They were kicking you 24/7 letting their presence known to you and you craved the most bizarre household items: your most recent craving was this Apple scented shampoo your household was currently using. It had led to nights of you sniffing this shampoo bottle and crying to Reiner, "but Rei, I just want to eat it, it smells so good. Baby wants it so badly." Thankfully, these bizarre cravings were fleeting, and only laster a few weeks at most and you couldn't wait for this one to end.
You shook your head to Reiner and motioned Luka to the dinner table where his food was waiting for him. He hopped off the sofa, walked to the dining table and hopped onto the dining table, rolling his eyes at the utensils that were placed neatly on either side of his plate. You watched closely as Reiner tried to teach Luka how to eat with a knife and fork, something he had been trying to achieve for the last three months. It started off well, Luka was happy to be able to pick up food with his fork but he would always end up discarding his utensils and using his hands claiming it was 'quicker' for him to eat than using a fork. You tried to hide your smirk when Reiner looked over to you and scowled your way jokingly. "He's so stubborn, just like you," Reiner rolled his eyes, giving up allowing Luka to eat his fish-fingers with his hands. "Luka, tomorrow we're going to try eating soup with a spoon."
"You do realise it's just going to messier still right? If our boy wants to use his hands, he'll use his hands. Introducing soup and spoons to him is just making a bigger obstacle for yourself," you laughed as Reiner sat down on the sofa next to you shaking his head.
"Don't say that," Reiner groaned imaging the mess. He then looked to you with a smile on his face, reaching out to place his hand over your ever-growing baby bump. "How are you two doing? Is there anything you need me to get for you?"
"I'm good Rei, don't worry so much," you smiled back to him.
The next day was a beautiful one. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, the sun was shining and the birds were tweeting the most gleeful of tunes. Reiner used this nice day to his advantage, promising Luka a picnic if he successfully used his spoon to eat his soup for dinner. He was successfully albeit food was all over the table and Luka's clothes, but he did it. You had tried to clean up the mess on the table while Reiner was washing the dishes, but he quickly shuffled you back to the sofa softly murmuring a couple of 'no's' and grumbles of 'you're pregnant with my baby, sit down and relax'. You grumbled in defiance, but sat down anyway and watched as your boyfriend cleaned the mess from the table and prepare snacks for the picnic. You then smiled as you watched Reiner clean up the soup from Luka's clothing, realising just how lucky you were for things to have turned out the way they did. "Y/N?" Reiner's voice had snapped you out of your daydreaming. "Are you coming to the picnic with us? It might do you and baby some good."
"I'm coming!" you called back excitedly. Trying to get off the sofa was a struggle, but Luka had come to your rescue desperately trying to help you to stand up. You laughed at your toddlers face and made your way to your shoes to put them on. While walking to the meadow, Reiner was holding your hand as Luka toddled ahead happily. "Someone's cheery," you smiled, motioning over to Luka who was admiring the butterflies passing by.
"He's having a good day," Reiner answered, smiling. "Hey buddy! Slow down a bit will you? Mama can't walk so fast because of baby!"
"Sowwy," Luka yelled back, stopping a distance ahead of you and waiting for you to catch up before once more running ahead of you.
Once you made it to the meadow Reiner set out a blanket for you to sit on and helped you lower yourself to the floor. He then got the basket of picnic food and placed it down next to you before grabbing Luka's drink and passing it to his son who was out of breath from all the running away he had done. Eventually he got to sit down next to him and you laughing, mocking him, "rest at last?"
"How on earth did you do this on your own for four years?" Reiner asked.
"I wasn't alone, I had my friends and my memories," you smiled. "I knew one day all of my hard work would be worth it."
Reiner gulped causing you to furrow your brows in confusion at his sudden claminess. "Y/N, I have something that I wanted to ask you."
"If you're going to ask me for another baby at least wait until this one pops out," you laughed motioning to your belly. Reiner let out a nervous laugh, but you managed to keep a serious face suddenly getting anxious at Reiner's nervousness. "Go ahead, ask me." You smiled at him uneasily.
"From the moment I first met you all of those years ago, I knew this is the kind of life I wanted with you. A few kids, having a picnic in a beautiful meadow, having our very own home," Reiner hesitated before continuing. "My term is almost up, but, would you do the honour of becoming my wife?"
You blinked, seeing Reiner swiftly get onto one knee and pulling a velvet box from out of his pocket. Your eyes began to tear up and you were rendered speechless. To think when you first saw him again after all this time, you hated his guts. Now, you were pregnant with his second child and reduced the man to his knees asking for your hand in marriage. "Of-Of course Reiner!" you replied in a yell. Reiner was taken back by your sudden burst, but quickly smiled placing the ring on your finger and pulling you in for a kiss so deep and passionate, it was as if it was his last. You had spent the rest of the picnic holding each other, laughing at Luka playing and feeling the baby kick the hell out of you. You were the happiest you had ever been.
2 Months of Pregnancy Left:
Reiner was becoming increasingly protective over you. Every move you made had Reiner right by your side, ensuring your safety and holding your arm for support. You had decided to leave wedding planning until after the baby was born, not wanting to add extra pressure onto your already stressed form. Your belly was continuing to grow each day despite the fact you were almost full-term, but Reiner was still adamant on how beautiful you were and claimed you got even ‘beautifuler’ carrying his child. He liked to hear about your pregnancy with Luka too, using cravings and kicks as opportunities to compare the two. He was fully invested in your pregnancy, sometimes you wished it was him who was the pregnant one: he read all the books you had bought throughout your pregnancy with Luka and had made a list of names for both boys and girls he liked. During your last two months of pregnancy, Reiner had began to give you back and shoulder massages to ease the tension in your muscles and to be fair to him, it really did help. You just had a feeling that your last month of pregnancy would be... exciting to say the least.
1 Month of Pregnancy Left:
Exciting was probably not the word you were thinking of, more like hectic. Reiner had began to panic slightly. “Y/N, what if I won’t be a good father? What if Luka doesn’t like them? Oh Gods Y/N what if I kill it by accident?”
“Reiner you need to calm down you’re freaking me out!” you cried. “I’ve had one baby before. Don’t worry, I’ll teach you, but look at how amazing you are with Luka. Being a daddy comes natural to you Reiner, you’ll be amazing.”
You were unable to do anything. And I mean anything. Reiner was more than happy to do all the housework, all the grocery shopping and all the cooking. You couldn’t even lift a finger without being scolded.
3 Weeks of Pregnancy Left:
Massages become more consistent now, especially on your feet. Your feet had swollen so much and they hurt to no end, so obviously Reiner was quick to offer massages in an attempt to ease the pain. It worked to an extent, but the second he stopped the pain started back up again. Luka had began to pester you about the whereabouts of his baby sibling. “Momma, why is my baby not here yet?”
“Soon honey, not long I promise you,” you ruffled his hair.
“Yeah Y/N,” Reiner chimed in with a smug smile. “Where is our baby?”
2 Weeks of Pregnancy Left:
Not much had changed throughout your last two weeks, only your craving for chocolate. It had become more intense than ever, thankfully your trusty superman Reiner was always willing to go out to the markets to buy you all the chocolate your heart desired. Luka was still pestering about his baby sibling no matter how many times you had tried to explain to him there wasn’t long left. Reiner had put your engagement ring on a chain for you to wear around your neck since your fingers had swollen up, like your feet, over the last couple of months and you were embarrassed. Still Reiner was adamant you were the most beautiful woman on earth.
1 Week of Pregnancy Left:
You couldn’t wait for it to be over. At first, you were excited to be pregnant again but after these last 9 months you couldn’t wait for this baby to be out of you. You wanted to meet your little bundle of joy and not have to carry around that massive baby bump with you everywhere you went. Reiner had taken this time to re-read all over the baby books over again: he read them when he woke up, before he went to sleep, eating, watching Luka, they were his favourite thing to read at the moment. He needed to make sure he was 100% for his new baby. You still saw him panicking at certain times, but you were quick to hush him with a few kisses and cuddles. Luka had began poking gently at your belly to try and coax the baby out no matter how many times you told him off for it, and eventually Reiner began to join in too. Later that night when Luka was asleep, you smirked to Reiner, bringing him in close and kissing him. “You know, professionals say there are a few ways in which we could try to get baby out-”
“Spicy foods?” Reiner responded timidly, as if you were questioning him.
“Sex Rei,” you laughed. He wasted no time in pouncing on top of you. He worshipped you all night. He was relishing in his breeding kink - holding your swollen stomach as he pounded into you was enough to make him cum there and then. This wasn’t the only night you engaged in such activities to attempt to make baby come quicker, but it was probably the most memorable as Reiner had been so delicate with you. You tried spicy foods also, but the sex was definitely the most enjoyable for you.
“Reiner! Reiner!” you called out in a panic.
“What is it my love?” His energy matched yours.
“My water just broke!” you cried out, waddling out towards him.
He rushed you to the med-bay as quickly as you guys could. Luka still in his pyjamas wondering where they were going in such a hurry. “Mummy is having baby now my love,” you cooed to him as you waddled along holding the bottom of your baby bump. You had tried your hardest to stay calm in labour but Reiner was freaking you out by how calm he was, sitting in the corner with Luka on his lap, looking through the baby book together. You had heard from previous women that the second baby was much quicker than the first, and they were right. You were ready to go straight to the delivery room by the time you reached the Med-Bay, 20 minutes later and you had a beautiful baby girl.
“She’s so beautiful,” Reiner mumbled, tears welling in his eyes as your newborn was passed to you.
“Oh Reiner she’s perfect,” you cried loudly. “Hey little angel, welcome to the world. I’m your mummy and this is your daddy. Over here we have your big brother Luka! We’ll take great care of you, I promise.”
“What should we call her?” Reiner asked as he sat by your side stroking both yours and your newborns hair.
“You had a huge list Reiner, you tell me,” you laughed wiping some tears away from your eyes.
“How about...” He pondered for a moment, thinking through his huge list of names. “How about Lina? Luka and Lina?”
“I love it,” you hummed as he pressed his lips to yours. “Welcome Lina, we love you.”
“Now, we have a wedding to plan for,” Reiner smirked. “Need to make you Mrs Braun.”
