favorite thing about them: There is so much to love about Connor but I'm especially charmed by his occasional blips of "oh yeah he grew up in an ashram and doesn't, like, know what Pokemon is" stuff. Like he still can't drive. (I know many people can't drive who didn't grow up in an ashram! I still find it charming.) He misses 60% of pop culture references. He's like 23 and giving "confused old man" almost as hard as Ollie. Precious.
least favorite thing about them: His tendency to disappear from canon for years at a time. I guess now he has a good chance of showing up once every June. :/
favorite line: "So what does Connor Hawke like to do for fun?" "LOTS of things!" And then he takes Roy to a used bookstore. What a wild man!
brOTP: Aside from his actual siblings, Tim. And also Damian. And also Tim and Damian fighting over him because that's hilarious. (And obviously you know I want Jason to annex him because they're closest to the same age/mini-generation, I wrote a whole fic about it.)
nOTP: The Shado situation is complicated and happened because of a long tradition of extremely racist writing of Asian women, but that doesn't mean I enjoyed that particular bout of "No no, he's definitely straight."
random headcanon: When people in Star City are differentiating between the two Green Arrows, they refer to them as "the old one" and "the hot one." Connor is politely embarrassed by this.
unpopular opinion: This isn't unpopular in the sense of "people in fandom would dislike or disagree with this" so much as I've never seen people talking about it, but I think he and Roy actually had a pretty interestingly tense early relationship before Ollie's death and resurrection, where Connor had this intense parasocial desire to be around Roy, who he'd grown up idolizing, while also being very jealous of him, and Roy just wanted nothing to do with Connor because it brought up every single bad feeling he associated with Ollie. They worked it out, obviously, but I think that's an interesting and largely ignored dynamic!
