I did a little chart for the occupation of the Saint Nizier church in Lyon; the beginning of the sex worker rights movement. Nice to see the planets telling a story, as always.

Mercury has passed its conjunction to the Sun, and is truly in the underworld.
Do the work. Process the darkness.
But no friendliness towards one another has been granted to adjacent signs: sympathy between them is blunted because the sight of each other is denied them. Their attentions are bestowed on distant signs which they can see.

The god invented and gave us vision in order that we might observe the circuits of intelligence in the heaven and profit by them for the revolutions our own thought, which are akin to them, though ours be troubled and they are unperturbed; and that, by learning to know them and acquiring the power to compute them rightly according to nature, we might reproduce perfectly unerring revolutions of the god and reduce to settled order the wandering motions in ourselves.

If we consider that the essence of Jupiter-Neptune is one of inspiration, idealism, and liberation, then the opposition suggests that the reality behind the idealism is found lacking.

Just finished going over this chart with a certain someone. Excited to be consulting a little more on the fly, and reimagining process and engagement with the planets while I'm away from the nest. Playing with these things so I can offer cheaper and differently accessible consults to star gazers back home... #astrology #summerlove #berlin #changeisasgoodasaholiday
All Kuiper belt objects are named after creator deities, apparently.
On Venus-day, someone said to me, “You must like being told what to do.”
For the last week, I have been meditating, writing, contemplating and playing with the planets. Each day of the week is traditionally associated with a planet, and this was used as a framework and a basis for exploration. But I also used local German history, and other ‘moments’ I came across in the day to explore our relation to the language of the skies.
I think I have more questions than answers.
What is the ‘use’ of astrology?
Some very wise teachers and healers have said to me that they seek to make their services redundant; that in time and with assistance we would all come to learn to heal ourselves, or come to our own equilibrium. Increasingly, I see astrology as no different.
It is not that I like being told what to do, but that I recognise there is a pattern here; a meaning; and a purpose. As an astrologer, I seek to make myself redundant. In time, we won’t look to the stars to understand our past, present, and future. In time, we will know and feel the movement of the planets, because as a symbolic reflection of our existence we will know ourselves and therefore them. (Sometimes I day dream about a future where I would close my eyes and point to Venus, without the need of an ephemeris.)
In a world of ups and downs, and, in my own life, surrounded by incredible people who seek justice in an unjust world (probably a strong Jupiter in your charts), astrology holds a strange position; an art and sometimes a science; a thought experiment and symbology that seems entirely impractical to some. I am open to astrology being a fiction; a way in which we find meaning in a meaningless world. And if it is, I don’t think it changes its validity. We find enlightenment and meaning through many fictions. It doesn’t make them less valuable. Does astrology have a place in creating a better world? I think so. I think astrologers, as a community, would we well served to have this as their objective.
Is every moment significant?
If astrology can reflect all time and existence, how is each moment represented? Through the week (hardly an exhaustive study!) I found that the small things do resonate with the planets. Though, not as strongly as the big things. While the astrology of the Brandenburg Tor seemed more obvious than the moment someone said to me, “It gives creativity to be broken”, in both moments there remained links to the patterns in the sky (according to my subjective appraisal).
If every moment is represented, again, what can we do with this information? My feeling is that it can bring the unconscious into consciousness. Often we interact and engage in situations that have hidden or unknown implications, or energy. An external reflection (like astrology), can give insight into obvious and not so obvious currents in experience and existence.
Every moment is represented, but significance varies according to position, context, and values held in time.
Can you interact with the framework?
I often had the feeling of being spoken to. I sometimes wondered if the universe knew what I was doing this week and sent interesting and appropriate things my way. Or is it that I was more conscious of the pattern, and had greater awareness of how my activities fit within the astrology? Through rituals and odes to the planets, we connected with the astrology in a way that was not entirely intellectual.
Can you change your astrology? Yes, I think so. Awareness of the pattern offers a decision to move with the energy, or cross it. Can this work all of the time? As moments within moments, leading to other moments… probably not (more experiential research needed; astrology takes a lifetime, or two :)
Big ‘DANKE!’ to Bronwyn and Winter Hart Studio for playing host, participant, and inspirational team member. That’s us below, trading clothes on Mercury-day. We also traded beds.
I am very privileged to be able to take the time to explore, this week, and give thanks and appreciation for the journey.
#astrology hidden everywhere. The zodiac is displayed on the entrance to the royal cathedral at Prague castle. Each sign has their image, and above it a depiction of the corresponding season. Today, the sun is in Gemini, and the corresponding image is of one lover serenading another. Very appropriate for the northern hemisphere Spring. And making me thoughtful about how we apply this system in the south...
