"You are the worst kind of scum, Egbert, and I'm ashamed to be associated with you." Sollux shook his head and walked to the north wall of the store, to be face to face with his eternal love, his loving muse, his darling.
John grabbed the box he was going to drop an obscene amount of cash on and jogged to catch up, cradling it to his body like a precious lamb. Sollux could barely disguise his distaste, so he didn't, curling his lip and scrunching his eyes at his "friend."
"Oh my god, Sol, dude, you already have like nine kits back home that you haven't even opened, you aren't seriously--" He rolled his eyes as he spoke, but Sollux cut him off.
"It's my money and I can get more if I fuckin' feel like, asshole." The mech on the front of the box was gloriously intricate, and Sollux's fingers itched to paint it with loving care.
"Y'know." John mused as Sollux stacked three of four-- no, five, boxes in his skinny arms. "If you didn't drop a grand every time we came here, you probably wouldn't need a roommate, and then you wouldn't have to see my lovely ladies."
"Shut the fuck up, Egbert. We're checking out and leaving." Sollux grumbled, tucking his chin over the glossy cardboard and hobbling to the cashier.
He didn't have a problem, he could stop any time he wanted.
