after oswald, she thought her heart was dried out. there was one person she loved, one person, and she had fulfilled her quota of being vulnerable. of being wanted, and cared for, and held. then, she met mickey, oh, the infamous mickey. she could understand his brother’s disdain. he was a dickhead. but when she met his eyes, there was something that made it hard to look away. there was an intensity between the two, and despite the fact he was her ex’s brother, who happened to despise mickey, she was drawn in. there wasn’t time to feel guilty between the touching and kissing. so now she was here, the early morning rays beaming through the curtains, dancing across the bare back of the boy beside her, and she could only think of one thing: oh, fuck. not again.

notoriously, genie was a heartless person. she did things for herself, and only herself, to hell with anyone in her life. so it was a surprise to everyone, but especially herself, when she did fall in love. oswald was the one person in the world that made genevieve want to... feel normal. not like a complete power hungry, self obsessed monster. but it wasn’t going to work, so she tried to break it off cleanly, reasoning with herself he’d go back to la, and she’d never have to see him again. it was hard, but it was necessary. she would have just ruined him, and he, god, he was the one person who she didn’t want that to happen to. so imagine her shock to round the corner, and see him standing there, looking as dumbfounded as she probably did. “oswald,” she replied, trying to keep a cool composure, but she could feel herself shaking. they stood there for a moment, neither saying anything. “what are you doing here?”

as the other grew closer, she knew she had chose right. even if he was aware, he wanted the acceptance, but not in a way, it seemed, that he would outright admit. she looked him up and down, and a smirk spread across her face. “no, babe, i’m talking to you,” she said, and tilted her head up at him, taking her sunglasses off. “what’s your name?”

“for you? i don’t do anything for anyone,” genevieve retorted, scrunching her nose at her... friend. there was a trio of them-- gen, paz, and tiff-- and the power dynamic was an odd one. but, genevieve wasn’t interested in the semantics, she just needed someone to not be a total fucking bore over here. if she could haul ass back to london, she would have preferred to do it. “we’re going to a ramen bar, babe, and then maybe bowling, so get your cute socks on, and let’s go.”
