Vague Posting, Autism, and Lapis

It was in the middle of a video when Logan said it. They had been talking about self-image and how some had horrible self-images and that it didn’t matter what others thought about you as long as you liked what you thought about himself. Patton had gained a few pounds from his sweets and Logan had noticed and decided to use him as an example.

“I mean, think of Patton! He’s gained a few pounds due to his sweets and he doesn’t look all that great, but he likes how he looks, so it doesn’t matter! Right, Patton?” Logan had said, smiling at Patton, who looked confused and hurt for a split second before he forced a smile, agreed and had dipped out of sight.

Thomas, Virgil, and Roman were watching, Thomas looking shocked while Romans mouth was open in shock and Virgil was just glaring at Logan. Logan saw them looking at him and blinked at their shocked and disgusted expressions, wracking his brain over what he could have done wrong and coming up blank, staring at them all and tilting his head slightly at them.

“What did I do wrong? Was it something I said?” Logan asked, head tilted and staring at them as Virgil just shook his head and popped out, probably to go comfort Patton as Roman followed suit, sinking down with a look at Thomas. Thomas sighed and Logan looked at him, wincing slightly at Thomas’ disappointed look.

“Logan, think about it. When someone calls you an emotionless robot, how do you feel about that?” Thomas asked Logan sadly, Logan thinking about it and feeling hurt about being called that, eyebrows furrowing as he stared at Thomas, starting to understand what could have happened and why Patton had dipped out the way he had.

“I see. I suppose I’ve hurt Pattons feelings, haven’t I?” Logan hummed and winced again slightly when Thomas nodded his head and Virgil popped back in, glaring at Logan slightly as Roman rose back into the group, Patton not wanting to see any of them at the moment and Roman put his hands on his hips as Virgil crossed his arms.

“Patton doesn’t want to see any of us because of you right now. Because you basically just called him fat and told him he should smile and nod to it.” Virgil hissed at Logan, sneering at him and shaking his head at him, glaring at him and Logan looked at the ground, frowning slightly as he did so.

“I did not think that he would feel that way about my words.. I should apologize to him.” Logan decided, about to sink out when he saw Roman and Virgil shaking his head at Logan as Patton rose up again, eyes red and puffy. Logan felt a pain in his chest and a tightness in his throat as he stared at Patton. Had he caused Patton to cry?

“Patton. I am truly sorry. I did not know that my words would hurt you so much and I did not think before speaking, which is uncharacteristic of me. But I am truly sorry, and hope that you will forgive me.” Logan said to Patton, silently pleading with him that he’ll forgive him for his hateful words. Patton smiled weakly at Logan.

“It’s fine, Lo. I really shouldn’t be eating so many sweets anyway.. But I don’t blame you! I forgive you, Lo!” Patton smiled widely at Logan, who shook his head.

“I shouldn’t have said anything. You are a perfect weight for your height. If anything, me, Roman, Virgil, and Thomas are a tad bit underweight for our heights and builds. You are of optimal weight.” Logan told him, trying to make Patton feel better and it worked as Patton smiled widely at him, brightening up.

“Thanks Logan! That means a lot!” Patton giggled, smiling widely at them all. Logan smiled. Now to just deal with Thomas, Virgil, and Roman, who now all looked self-conscious.

Roman glared at his reflection, his spectacles falling down his nose as he did so. He hated his glasses. How was he supposed to be a prince when he had them? Princes did not wear glasses! Princes had perfect vision and didn’t need glasses ever! When had anyone ever heard of a Prince who had glasses on? Every Prince he could think of had perfect vision and Roman had to be like them! He had to be!

Roman quickly took off his glasses, glaring at them in his hands through his blurred vision from the lack of them. Sighing, he put them on the dresser next to his bed and went to his bathroom, opening his cabinet and looking for a pair of contact lenses he always wore. Looking he saw he only had one pair left and winced, knowing he’d have to conjure more tomorrow. At the moment, he knew that he didn’t the time, since Thomas was currently asking for them to show up, and he was late as it was.

As he took them out and opened them, he could hear the others talking in his head, something that happened when they talked to Thomas. It was how they knew the situation when they slid into the conversation. Cursing as he dropped one of them, Roman decided to go without his lenses for one video, taking a deep breath and sliding down to slide up.

Sliding up, his misjudged where the lamp was and almost knocked it over, quickly fixing it and posing as he always did, a witty quip on his face. Due to lack of contacts and glasses, he was currently riding blind and couldn’t see reactions, but if he had been able to see, he would have seen that they were all looking at him in confusion and concern. Roman quickly jumped into the conversation, which was about whether or not appearance mattered when it came to love. Roman internally winced at the conversation, wishing he had decided to sit this one out, but none-the-less he went into the conversation with gusto.

When it came Romans turn to talk, he found himself opening his mouth.. And saying nothing. He just couldn’t bring himself to say something inspiring when he knew the truth of how he felt. He couldn’t bring himself to lie. And that hurt, because he knew that how he really felt was selfish, self-centered, and the wrong way to feel about it, but he took a deep breath and said how he felt.

“I think appearance does matter. For example, Imagine if you meet someone, like a Prince, and he had glasses! Princes don’t wear glasses so your image of them would be ruined and you would be disappointed and ultimately leave them, no?” Roman found himself saying and internally cringing about it, wishing he had his glasses for once so he could see how they were reacting to it as the room became dead silent.

“Roman.. Is there something you want to tell us?” That was Logans voice. Even if Roman couldn’t see him, he could hear him, and that tone of voice and way it was said told Roman that it was Logan. Roman panicked. If Logan told them then he was done for. Absolutely done for. Thomas must have seen him pale, cause he was speaking next.

“Well, I think a Prince having glasses would be so cool. They would be the first of their kind and that would make them so unique and awesome! And it would give a whole new demographic something that they could be proud of! How many can say that they want to be a Prince because a Prince they knew wears glasses? None, right now.”

“Well then, in that case..” Roman felt like he was going to cry as he looked at the ground, looking worried and unsure before taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, wringing his hands together and taking another deep breath. He then conjured his glasses onto his face and slowly opened his eyes, seeing in clear vision all of them staring at him, but not in disgust, but support and appreciation.

Thomas smiled at him. “Roman, I didn’t know you wore glasses!” Thomas gushed, looking positively tickled pink about his glasses. Roman smiled, a little self-conscious as he ducked his head, his glasses sliding down slightly before pushed them back up again shyly.

“Well, I didn’t think anyone would want a.. A Prince who wore glasses. No offence, Patton, Logan,” Roman quickly apologized, wringing his hands together, “But Princes are supposed to be perfect. And having glasses means that your eyes aren’t perfect..” Roman looked down again when he heard someone clear their throat, looking up, he saw Virgil staring at him and everyone looking at the anxious side.

“Just because you’re not perfect doesn’t mean your not a Prince. Tarzan was raised by apes and didn’t know the first thing about human civilization and yet some consider him a Prince. Hans from Frozen was the first Villain that many consider a Prince. Princes come in all shapes and forms and just because you have glasses doesn’t mean you can’t be one too.” Virgil told Roman seriously. Roman smiled and Logan nodded to what Virgil said, knowing he couldn’t have said it better himself.

“Well, I think you look glasstastic!” Patton chimed in, getting a little giggle from Roman and a small smile from Virgil. Thomas clapped his hands together again and turned to the camera, quickly finishing the video as the sides all slid out of view, Roman smiling as he heard Thomas tell them that even if they were any Shape, Size, Gender, Race, or anything like that, they too could be a Prince like him.
