Happy 1st Anniversary Resonance Effect!
I pretty much started this comic on a whim, not gonna lie. The original idea was that Resonance Effect would be an animated series, something that’s probably still evident in how sloppily paced it is. The “script” for my first few chapters was a screenplay that I’d edit as I’d thumbnail and letter. Maybe a proper animated pilot will come to fruition someday, but I’m really glad I didn’t wait until I felt like I could do that perfect outlet to start telling this story. I don’t know if making a webcomic is one of the best decisions I’ve made, but it’s certainly one of my favorites.
In the years leading up to RE, I wasn’t drawing nearly as much as I had in the past. Making this comic very much got me back into it which is very nice. I’m proud of having made 170+ pages (including covers and some promo art, lol) in such a short amount of time as a year, and while I still have a ways to go, I’m confident you can look at the first pages and the most recent ones and see some notable improvement.
The interactions I’ve made on ComicFury are also extremely important to me. As someone who grew up not having a lot of friends, it means a lot to me to have a place to talk and connect with people over this hobby.
Sorry if this letter isn’t super great. Originally I had a whole three part essay planned and some other stuff, but I have been the busiest this week, so this thing typed up last minute will have to do. I do want to thank you all for reading the comic, subscriber or not. It’s really gone way better than I ever could have imagined and I really love all of you and Resonance Effect. I’m looking forward to the comic’s future and a future with all of you! <3
