Being in the car, but not visibly driving it - or visibly not having a driver = going through life on (emotional) autopilot
If the car is emotional autopilot, then the car exploding is being emotionally destroyed
carrying so much baggage already, and not having enough room for more = there was so much emotional baggage from life already, now that you want to pack up this relationship baggage you can’t, it just makes everything unstable and it falls around you (aka having a breakdown).
TV’s on static = Before 24/7 TV, channels would shut down for the night and there would be no signal, giving the feed of static instead. When I see TVs full of static, it gives an insomnia feeling. It’s passed midnight, and even the late night channels are off air.
The hallway shots with the light at the end, but the boys are always in the middle = seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (when you know better days are coming and you’re almost there) but either chosing or being unable to make progress towards those better days. (There is even a shot where someone’s hand touches the light at the end but passes on)
Yunhyeong on the stack of chairs = Another way of showing the ‘being at the edge of a cliff’ He’s comfortable in some scenes, and precarious in another. Emotionally, one step sideways can be a collapse (aka another breakdown metaphor)
Room of bottles = Being filled, but with emptiness.
