Am i enough?
Do you want to stick it out? See how things go? Is it worth it? My friend asked me. I sat there for only a split second then responded sadly, “It doesn’t matter what I think” I have stuck it out with other lovers in the past, believing they were worth it only to be burned. My instincts tell me my now fortified walls need to stay up.
The theme for today is choices. Is it worth it to try and hold the attention of a man who chooses to surround himself with the art and influence of naked sultry women? Is it just me or is this an alarming way to view peoples bodies? So casually. As if what we choose to gaze upon doesn’t effect our desires. As if what we choose to give our attention to doesn’t effect our expectations and thoughts. As if that nude photo of a friend that you liked on instagram hasn’t randomly popped into your head? even though you’re dating someone else. How can you build a healthy relationship with someone when you are choosing to allow those temptations to permeate your life? The issue here isn’t women being nude. That is their choice and I will always support women having the choice to expose or not expose themselves.
It comes down to whether or not I want to be with a lover who chooses to consume sexual photos of not only strangers but even the girl next door “for the sake of art”....I often do enjoy and support nude art that is truly for the sake of art. But that girl down the street, or that friend from high school who’s best friend happens to own a camera?...I know those photos have no use other than to turn people on. She is seeking to be sexualized by her audience. If you have to pay to look at her “modeling” website it’s high class porn not art. Am I not enough? Is anyone ever going to be enough for you? He tells me I have no reason to not trust him. I know his point is valid. It wouldn’t be fair to not give him a chance. Yet I have no reason to trust him yet. And I know my point is valid too. Who’s to say who’s right in this situation?
We both have choices to make.
