The Lakes Do It All

It didn’t take Atticus long to catch Claude. 

Atticus: Mr. Worthington?

Claude: Have we met before?

Atticus: No but I’ve heard of you and I’m looking for work.

Claude: Isn’t your father a cop?

Atticus: How did you know?

Trina got defensive and curious at the same time. She had always been hostile and it showed on her face.

Trina: What could you possibly need from me?

Atticus: I hear that you work for Claude Worthington. I need to know how to get in touch with him.

Trina: Claude? *she laughed* He’s not the type of guy you just walk up to.

Atticus: Ya I figured but let me worry about that. Do you knw how I can get in touch with him.

After dinner Atticus took a walk down by the pier. Stuck in his head were Lacey’s words. He knew he’d never be a Detective like his father or Corporate like the Blake's. 

His Grandfather Gage always told him that he was smart and skilled enough to do whatever he wanted. He found Trina Caldwell jogging towards him and took a chance.

Atticus: Hey Trina, remember me?

Trina; Of course. Atticus Birk golden boy of high school. 

Lacey told stories of Atticus when he was younger knowing that the real interest for Maya was him.

Lacey: I’m just hoping he finds a job soon doing something he likes and not running that club his mo...Candace left him.

Maya invited Lacey and Atticus out for dinner in an attempt to get to know the better.

The more he thought about it the angrier he became. His life was good and even though he isn’t a saint, he loves his family and doesn’t want to let them down.

Atticus invited Carissa over to talk about what Candace had told him. She could be hot-headed at times but he knew that she would help him sort out how he felt.

Atticus: So she said that whether I wanted it or not that there would be a business in my name once I come of age.

Carissa: Well what kind of business?

Atticus: I’m not sure? She asked me what I wanted to do and when I told her I was thinking of being a bartender she said “Perfect” so maybe a club?
