Signups for the 2020 Haikyuu!! Rarepair Exchange are live!
Hello! welcome to the Haikyuu!! Rare Pair Exchange!
You’ll be matched up with a partner who shares some of your favorite rare pairs, and then you’ll secretly create a gift for them — either art or fic (or both if you choose!). On the deadline, all the gifts will be revealed, and you’ll have a new friend to talk about rare pairs with!
Please read through the following information before signing up to help ensure the best possible experience.

Rules for participating
♦ who can participate
Both writers and artists can participate in the Haikyuu!! Rare Pair exchange! Participants will be matched by the characters they want to see in a rare pair and they may receive either fanart or fanfic in the exchange.
People can also join this event as a beta or pinch-hitter, but the participants in these positions may not receive a gift. Writers and artists can participate as betas or pinch-hitters as well if they wish to.
Please note that when you sign up, there will be no option for a preferred gift. Since rare pairs are so very rare, you’ll be matched up based on common characters you and your recipient share, and then be expected to create your gift in whatever medium you want.
♦ content requirements and limitations
Participants can create a gift in any of the following mediums: fic, digital art and/or traditional art. If any participant wishes to work with a combination of these, it’s acceptable as long as the minimum requirements are followed.
Minimum requirements
1000 words minimum for a fic 500 x 300 pixels size minimum for digital art 7 x 4 in/A5 canvas size minimum for traditional art All works must be SFW
Additionally, we have a rule regarding the ages of the characters: characters under 18 shouldn’t be paired up with characters more than three years older. An example would be a first year character being paired with a third year character, but not an older character.
Remember that the contents of the work should only feature pairings that are not part of the banned list, which can be found here.
♦ how to fill in the forms
Things are a little different this time around due to the sheer versatility of shipdom in the HQ fandom. Instead of picking specific ships, you will be signing up with characters for whom you would like to receive rarepair content? Are you a fan of Kageyama ships? Cool, put him on the list. Do you stan a good Yachi ship? We have you covered.
How you can avoid getting content you don’t particularly care for is making a Dear Creator letter. This letter should include:
Particular ships that you are partial to
Particular ships you do not like
Tropes or prompts you would enjoy
Tropes and prompts you would not like to receive
Any triggers, squicks, or dislikes you do not wish to have included in your gift.
The Dear Creator letter is not required, but it is heavily recommended so you can get the best possible gift and your gifter has the best possible information to do so. This letter can be hosted on the medium of your choice: Google docs, a linkable social media platform with sufficient character allowances to deliver this information, personal web page (i.e. Carrd) with a section dedicated to the letter.
Cool, I have all the information I need and I’d like to sign up. Where do I do that?
Creator Signups (option for pinch hitting available if you want to do both)
Pinch Hitter Signups (for anyone not signed up in the exchange as a creator)
Beta Reader Signups (needs to be filled out even if you are doing either of the other two in order to collect the best possible information)
If you’d like to join the event Discord server, you may do so here. It’s not compulsory, but it’s a good way to keep all the information in one place should you need it. The official Tumblr page will have further updates and rule listings, but all official communication will be conducted through email.
We hope to see you soon, and thank you for making this event possible and so much fun to offer! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us through the following outlets:
