Em primeiro lugar… Já faz um tempo.

Mas principalmente, eu queria compartilhar uma história. Uma história que escrevi sobre o homem que amo e a forma como nos conhecemos.

Vamos chamar isso de um conto de fadas moderno.

'Era uma vez…

Havia uma garota de Los Angeles (algumas pessoas a chamavam de atriz). E tinha um cara de Londres (algumas pessoas o chamavam de Príncipe). Todas essas pessoas não entenderam totalmente.

Porque esta é a história de amor de um menino e uma menina que deveriam ficar juntos. Esta, meu amor, é a nossa história.

Eles se encontram em 3 de Julho de 2016 em Londres. E eles riam sem parar. Ela pediu uma cerveja porque acha que ele vai achar que ela é legal. Ele pede uma cerveja porque espera que ela o ache legal. (…) Nenhum dos dois gosta muito de cerveja. Mas uma coisa é óbvia: eles realmente gostam um do outro. Então, eles comem e bebem, cancelam os planos e se encontram novamente na noite seguinte. Porque eles têm que se ver novamente. (…) Eles têm um segundo encontro e ele traz cupcakes, porque é 4 de Julho. "Uma celebração agridoce", ele diz. Irônico realmente. A independência do país dela, do país dele. No entanto, neste momento, eles sabem que não querem ser independentes um do outro. E depois de um mês de namoro à distância, eles se estabelecem na quietude de Botswana. E em meio a quaisquer preocupações momentâneas que surgem, eles olham um para o outro e pensam: 'Tanto faz, mundo, estamos dentro'. Eles amariam, cuidariam do jardim, viajariam, ririam e acumulariam mais milhas aéreas do que qualquer casal poderia ter. E, quando as marés estavam agitadas, eles se apertavam mais. ‘Nada pode nos quebrar’, eles diziam. Por esse amor, ela foi uma lutadora. 'Eu aprecio, respeito e honro você, meu tesouro, pela família que iremos criar e nossa história de amor que durará para sempre.'

Por isso - peço a vocês - que brindem, com a surpreendente certeza de que agora a vida começa e o conhecimento eterno de que, acima de tudo, o amor vence."

First of all… It’s been a while. 

But mostly, I wanted to share a story. A story that I wrote about the man that I love and the way that we met. 

Let’s call this a modern fairy tale. 

'Once upon a time…

There was a girl from LA (some people called her an actress). And there was a guy from London (some people called him a prince). All of those people didn’t fully get it. 

Because this is the love story of a boy and girl who were meant to be together. This, my love, is the story of us.

They meet on July 3rd, 2016 in London. And they giggle endlessly. She ordered a beer because she thinks he will think she is cool. He orderer a beer because he hopes she will think he is cool. (…) Neither of them really like beer. But one thing is obvious: they really like each other. So they eat and drink, and cancel plans and meet again for a second date the next night. Because they have to see each other again. (...) They have their second date and he brings her cupcakes because it’s 4th July. A bittersweet celebration’, he says. Ironic really. Her country’s independence from his country. Yet, in this moment, they know they don’t want to be independente of each other. And after a month of long-distance courtship, they settle into the quiet of Botswana. And amidst whatever momentary worries that creep in, they look at each other and think, ‘Whatever, world, we’re in.’ They would love, and garden, and travel, and laugh, and rack up more air miles than any couple could have. And when the tides were rough, they squeezed each other tighter. ‘Nothing can break us,’ they’d say. For this love, she was a fighter. ‘I appreciate, respect and honor you, my treasure, for the family we will create, and our love story that will last forever.’'

So I ask you to raise a glass to the astounding assurance that now life begins and the everlasting knowing that, above all, love wins."
