I once had a boy beat the shit out of me and then spit on my face while I was lying on the ground, then say “fuck you cunt”. I once loved a boy who didn’t know how to handle his own negative emotions, so he called me an “evil cunt”. I used to give a fuck. I used to let this word hurt me, but today I turned into something beautiful. Today I chose to turn it into a reminder that words are only words until you give them the power to make you feel one way or another. Today I chose to forever remind myself that I am what I am, not what other people think I am. You cannot hurt me unless I give you that power. I refuse to give anyone that much power over me, especially not over a silly word like “cunt”.
