I like to believe that the Hamada brothers and their parents did group costumes when they were all still together. Usually nerd based costumes, ones with characters from Star Wars or whatever TV show or movie Tadashi was obsessed with that year.
For example, their last Halloween together Hiro went as Luke, Tadashi as Obi Wan, their father as Anakin and their mother is Padmae (even though she protested, she still liked the costume). Their father loved it, which made the rest of them happy, since work had been pretty tough on him lately.
The brothers carried on the tradition as going as matching characters years after that, going as people like Batman and the Joker, Goku And Vegeta, Even Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. It was nice to spend some time together after both of them being busy with something or other every day.
When the rest of the group found out about this after Tadashi’s passing, they surprised him with a red ranger costume on Halloween. They all went trick or treating as the power rangers and the entire thing made Hiro so happy that at the end of the night when they dropped him off he was crying.
He still had a family to celebrate with, even after losing his parents and brother.
