I think that the fact im a drug addict doesnt mean shit. It doesnt tell you who i am, what my life is like, my past, my future. I know addicts that have died, and i know some that have recovered and are now very happy.

People judge addicts like we’re all the same -dirty criminals with no conscience and no values. We’re human too. We have feelings and friends and we have goals for life. Stop treating drug addicts like their subhuman bc you can’t extend empathy to people that are usually in a lot of fucking pain.

I’m sick of people seeing a homless person and saying “oh, don’t give him money, he’ll just buy drugs with it”

Uh. So what. For all you know he could be using that money for food and water, or necessary hygiene? But who gives a shit if he does blow it on heroin? If you’re homless and u feel like shit, fuck, go get high if you have the cash. Hell, I’ll get you high. I know all too well what withdraws are like and you deserve, like any person, to not feel like/ be dying.

If youre so concerned about drug users, help them get treatment, and therapy, and safe places to live. Help them help themselves if youre so fucking concerned.

Oh? You won’t? Makes sense, because youre more interested in blaming homlessness on the individual when their situation could be caused by a lot of reasons, and you want to put yourself on a moral pedistal bc you aren’t like those “dirty junkies”
