The student teams present their ideas and concepts for the rest of the class to critique. The starting themes are digital identity, the effects of virtual representation, and polymedia.
I thought you all might be interested in seeing my project as it progresses. I've mostly been fighting with Processing, but am starting to make some headway. My findings are all posted here, linking out to any interactive experiments.
For all you origami lovers out there.

“Truth, Beauty, and the Icosahedron: From Plato to Quasicrystals and Beyond”
Thursday, October 10, 2013, 3:00 PM, 210 Hodson Hall - Johns Hopkins Homewood campus.
“Truth, Beauty, and the Icosahedron: From Plato to Quasicrystals and Beyond”
Presented by Dr. Marjorie Senechal Editor-in-Chief, The Mathematical Intelligencer Louise Wolff Kahn Professor Emerita in Mathematics and History of Science and Technology Smith College
The 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of quasicrystals crowned the career not only of their discoverer, but of a Platonic solid too. I will trace the icosahedron’s fluctuating fortunes in scientific thought through the centuries, and show why it’s center stage today.
Marjorie Senechal earned her Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Professor Senechal's fields of interest include: history of science and technology, discrete geometry (polyhedra and tiling theory) and mathematical crystallography (including quasicrystals). At Smith College, Dr. Senechal taught history of science as well as mathematics. She founded the Kahn Institute in 1998 and served as its director the first eight years. In 1982, Senechal won the Carl B. Allendoefer Award of the Mathematical Association of America. Her books include Crystalline Symmetries, Quasicrystals and Geometry, Long Life to Your Children! a Portrait of High Albania, American Silk, and Shaping Space. She has been the editor of the MAA book series Carus Mathematical Monographs and is co–editor–in–chief of The Mathematical Intelligencer.

Some Art Inspiration
Hello Everyone,
I thought I would post some of my favorite Art inspiration for you all as you start hone in on your ideas!
Crying Dress
Perner-Wilson Website
Mika Satomi and Hannah Perner-Wilson made a majestic dress that Weeps for you and fabric speakers. Also included is Perner-Wilsons website which has wondrous projects and links pertaining to material investigation.

Do Ho Suh
Hey fabric folks! Google the artist Do Ho Suh for his reinterpretation of space and objects with fabric and thread.
PureData
For you software geeks, Check out PureData and its many uses. I personally enjoy using it as a remote access for strangers across the web!
Illuminated Screen DIY
Cool little screen creating techique by Manuel Kretzer
LEDs
Okay so this is more of a tool, but if you really enjoyed working with LEDs and you think its sooo cool. But alas the math, it drives you crazy! here is a little helpful webpage to calculate for you.
Wind Map
Lastly, Alex had mentioned the acquisition of data as we saw with his twitter feed demonstration of tag searching. Here is an idea to inspire, in a loosely connected way. A map collecting data on wind. Interesting play of information and aesthetics.
That is all! I hope you enjoyed some Art Inspiration!
