Shoutout to addicts and other drug users who don't want to stop doing drugs. You deserve respect, compassion and support too.

The Three Graces by the late photographer Leonard Nimoy (yes, Spock from Star Trek!) from his Full Body Project
no one is coming to save yo- wrong!! everyone who has ever shown you love and/or care is saving you a little bit.
no one is comi - wrong!! someone always comes! the uber driver came to take me to my new apartment. my kindergarten teachers came to teach me how to count and read. all the people who researched, wrote and edited my favourite books came to share a new way of thinking about the world. enough of this individualist bullshit, someone always comes. fred rogers was right, we were all loved into being. someone always comes.

It's strange to think of it this way, but the first part of covid was likely the best part of my life. Being disabled it was the first time everyone was on the same playing field. I got a remote job. People were not only willing, but eager to hang out remotely or in small groups. I never got sick. I never had to drive. The stimulus finally paid off my credit debt... fuck Biden... Fuck Trump. Fuck the entire Epstein class. I want my village back.
This is the thing about "back to normal" that makes my blood boil. We showed disabled folks what community care looked like for a few months, then most people started treating anyone trying to perpetuate such practices as freaks. Society accidentally brought disabled people into broader society before purposefully blowing up all the places that new, more inclusive society met. Because community sans profit is bad, right? People will treat zoom or discord calls like a threat instead of a way to hang out with their friends, and all that means is disabled people are even more isolated than before. And that means disabled voices get drowned out in a sea of coughs and crappy, formulaic "content".
