Betty Trio
I know it's a common theory that in the Betty trio, Taylor = James, Karlie = Betty because of their names, but I have been listening to the songs and thinking about how they connect to their people and I actually believe that Taylor = Betty, Karlie = James, and Josh = Augustine. To explain why, I will talk about how each song relates to each person/relationship.
August: This is a song about a relationship that ruined a more prominent/lasting relationship. It makes the least amount of sense in my love triangle, but think of it as Karlie marrying Josh. Josh would have probably wanted to have Karlie for a while, and Taylor was in the way. Kaylor probably has some sort of problem in their relationship. Karlie chose Josh, and because of that, Taylor can never go back to their relationship.
Betty: The whole worst thing that I did part was talking about how Taylor probably pushed Karlie away and blamed her for something she didn't do. This is Karlie apologizing to Taylor about marrying Josh.
Cardigan: This was the song that got me thinking about all of this. The original lyrics are so gay and so Kaylor coded from Taylor's perspective. Gold age, sneak into my bird cage. Chase two girls lose the one. Karlie was trying to be with two people, and ended up having to lose her relationship with one of them. There are so many lyrics that relate to Taylor being Betty.
So, this could be totally wrong, but it's been annoying me for a while.
